[Bug 1153077] Re: rabbitmq queue fills up and celery stops executing tasks when upload_dhcp_leases is done every minute (by default)
I've recently seen a somewhat similar situation: - Celery went down for a while. - Celerybeat jobs accumulated in RabbitMQ. - When Celery came back up, it spun manically, going through hundreds of old jobs. However, neither Celery nor RabbitMQ showed signs of falling over. They were just busy. It's a separate bug, but we should ensure that Celerybeat jobs have a very short lifetime. Maybe RabbitMQ or Celery have a mechanism for ignoring old jobs. If not, we can add a timestamp check to the job implementations themselves. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to maas in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1153077 Title: rabbitmq queue fills up and celery stops executing tasks when upload_dhcp_leases is done every minute (by default) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/maas/+bug/1153077/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1284793] [NEW] [FFE] Merge qemu 2.0
Public bug reported: Currently 14.04 has qemu 1.7.0+dfsg-3ubuntu4, which had 234 patches. Many of those are for enabling aarch64, most will be in 2.0. Qemu 2.0 is scheduled to be released on April 4 (http://wiki.qemu.org/Planning/2.0). I will begin doing regular package building/testing before release. If that testing goes well, I would like 2.0 to be considered for a late pull into 14.04. We will be supporting this package for 5 years; therefore I would prefer a 2.0 with very few patches on top, to a 1.7 with hundreds of patches, as a starting point. ** Affects: qemu (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1284793 Title: [FFE] Merge qemu 2.0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu/+bug/1284793/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1284793] Re: [FFE] Merge qemu 2.0
So are you planning on uploading the upstream rc releases starting with rc0? I wouldn't be too fond of just landing the final 2.0 to replace our 1.7 in early April, but if we switch to an upstream snapshot soon, then track their RCs that should leave us enough time to ensure our qemu is solid by release time. For an LTS, having good upstream support and an easy way to backport fixes and security fixes is critical, so if we have a reasonable landing plan for qemu 2.0, I'll be happy to grant the FFe. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1284793 Title: [FFE] Merge qemu 2.0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu/+bug/1284793/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Quoting Stéphane Graber (stgra...@stgraber.org): So are you planning on uploading the upstream rc releases starting with rc0? Absolutely. [Bug 1031063] Re: internal error no supported architecture for os type 'hvm'
Ran in to the same issue with Ubuntu-12.04. I am trying to set up nova compute in a VM. I wanted to use libvit_type=qemu but i kept getting the error hvm not supported. Just when I was about to give up and try to reboot my host with nested virtualization capability, I realized that I was adding libvirt_type=qemu in /etc/nova/nova.conf while I should really be adding it in /etc/nov/nova-compute.conf Doing that resolved my issue! [Bug 1149495] Re: Dash home application icon is different from app-lens icon
Yes. But the workaround is very simple. You just need to replace the “group-apps” SVG with the “lens-nav-app”. For example, on 13.04 Raring you can enter the command: sudo cp /usr/share/unity/6/lens-nav-app.svg /usr/share/icons/unity-icon- theme/places/svg/group-apps.svg After a re-login it will be corrected. For other releases you need to find the correct path to the files to make sure. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1149495 Title: Dash home application icon is different from app-lens icon To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1149495/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1284496] Re: Booting the Ubuntu GNOME live DE from the advanced boot menu results in a largely unusable DE
I can confirm that the gnome-shell live session is completely broken, pretty much all widget calculations seem off, when the half gear is showing. I have no idea where that is coming from, its surely not GNOME. strangely it also appears on the Try Ubuntu screen, however doesn't seem to break anything there, although there do appear to be some top panel icons missing. No idea if that is related though. ** Changed in: casper (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed ** Changed in: casper (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1284496 Title: Booting the Ubuntu GNOME live DE from the advanced boot menu results in a largely unusable DE To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/casper/+bug/1284496/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1241556] Re: cannot login after upgrade to 13.10
I have the same problem after an upgrade to 13.10. It was quite a challenge to log in in such a short time frame so I guess this can be a real serious issue for slow typing people. I would be more than happy to provide more details to get this issue resolved. Since auto-login may not be an acceptable workaround for everyone I suggest to use the lightdm-gtk-greeter instead: * Use CTRL+F1 to do a console login * sudo apt-get install lightdm-gtk-greeter * sudo cp /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf.bak * sudo nano /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf * Change the greeter-session line to: greeter-session=lightdm-gtk-greeter * Exit (CTRL+X) and safe changes * sudo service lightdm restart * logout (exit or CTRL+D) * Use CTRL+F7 for a graphical login. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1241556 Title: cannot login after upgrade to 13.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-greeter/+bug/1241556/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1280794] Re: Can't change default Open with application
The issue seems to be an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers of the software by following the instructions at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a bugwatch that will inform us about its status. [Bug 1284535] [NEW] Make IPV6_[RECV]PKTINFO work for IPv4-mapped addresses
Public bug reported: Currently, the Linux kernel doesn't provide IPV6_RECVPKTINFO ancillary data on datagrams coming in from IPv4-mapped clients (e.g., :::192.0.2.1) on INET6 sockets in the default dual personality mode, nor does it honour IPV6_PKTINFO when sending datagrams on such a socket to an IPv4-mapped destination. This means that an UDP application that requires a server to respond with the same address as it was contacted on cannot reliably work for IPv4 clients, because 1) the server has no way of knowing which address it was contacted on, and even if it did, 2) the kernel would ignore requests to use a specific source address. For a real-life manifestation of this problem, see this OpenVPN bug report: https://community.openvpn.net/openvpn/ticket/306 This has recently been fixed in the net-next upstream tree with the following commits (the first one of which made the 3.14 merge window, the second one will be in 3.15): https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/davem/net-next.git/commit/?id=4b261c75a99f29c93a0b6babfc180cdf566bd654 https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/davem/net-next.git/commit/?id=c8e6ad0829a723a74cd2fea9996a3392d2579a18 Enabling IPv6 is getting increasingly important in these days, but at the same time maintaining backwards compatibility with IPv4-only clients is also essential. I'm therefore requesting a backport of the above two commits to the Ubuntu LTS kernel images so that it becomes possible to use OpenVPN (and any other software packages) in dual-stack mode.
