Manually removing 'system-moni...@paradoxxx.zero.gmail.com' folder found in ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/ remedied the problem. In other words, uninstalling the extension manually and rebooting lowered gnome-shell cpu usage down to less than 5% on idle. After I had installed the new bios from Acer support site the kernel loaded with and even without ivrs kernel parameters however the GUI didn't start if I used the ivrs parameters. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Discord is mic is now distorted unless I set tsched=0 but if I set that then Steam chat is distorted.
