has three button right , left and middle with scrol , after checking few
forums and the command xev | grep -i button i figured out that if i tilt
the scrol button to the right a bit and press then button no. 3 (MMB) works,
 any idea ? thanks.

Sounds like a hardware issue - either it has dust or dirt in it or it's
starting to wear out. You can try opening it up and cleaning it if
you're comfortable doing that. In any case your issue is not related to
this bug.

Cheers,
 Andrew

[Bug 983707] Re: oss-compat simply does not work

2012-10-27 Thread Andrew Pam
Unfortunately padsp uses $LD_PRELOAD so it doesn't work with statically
linked binaries like some older Linux games - for example, Rilroad
Tycoon 2. Backward compatibility matters! Would it be possible to
provide a daemon which listens on /dev/dsp and forwards to PulseAudio?

[Bug 1008045] [NEW] plasma-netbook no debug symbols package exists

2012-06-03 Thread Andrew Pam
Public bug reported:

KDE4 plasma-netbook 4:4.8.3-0ubuntu0.2 often crashes on Ubuntu 12.04
amd64 but apport won't allow me to report it because there are no debug
symbols, and there is no available package containing them. I have kde-
runtime-dbg, kde-workspace-dbg, kdelibs5-deb, kdeplasma-addons-dbg,
libc6-dbg and libqt4-dbg installed but there is no plasma-netbook-dbg or
any other plasma debug package. Apport reports that it is missing the
debug information for /usr/bin/plasma-netbook and
/usr/lib/kde4/plasma_applet_menubar.so but can't find any suitable
package.

[Bug 500963] [NEW] tulip_stop_rxtx() failed on quad tulip card ZX346Q

2009-12-28 Thread Andrew Pam
Public bug reported:

I have a ZNYX ZX346Q quad-ethernet card with 4x21143-PD tulip chips,
information and drivers here:

http://www.znyx.com/products/hardware/zx340q.htm

The card does not work under Ubuntu Jaunty and Karmic, generating the
following error on any attempt to use any of the interfaces on the card:

:06:04.0: tulip_stop_rxtx() failed (CSR5 0xf066 CSR6 0xb3862002)

Booting with acpi=off or pci=routeirq do not help.

Relevant output from dmesg:

[Bug 194496] Re: [users-admin] Unlock - Could not authenticate. An unexpected error has occurred.

2009-01-18 Thread Andrew Pam
I have the same problem. After upgrading from Dapper to Hardy, I can't
use any admin tools even after checking /etc/hosts and adding my
username to the admin and polkituser groups in /etc/group and
/etc/gshadow. I always get Could not authenticate. An unexpected error
has occurred. when using the graphical tools, and the following appears
on the console:

** (users-admin:9736): CRITICAL **: Did not receive a reply. Possible
causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message
bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the
network connection was broken.

Note: All hardy updates are installed, so if this is Fix released it
certainly hasn't helped me.

[Bug 9068] Re: Serial mice are not autodetected

2008-06-22 Thread Andrew Pam
* Other distros detect serial mice
* It's OK to ask the user for input
* Has anyone looked at Please move your mouse while read-only probing serial
ports?
* If there is hardware that gets permanently damaged from probing, it's the
responsibility of maintainers for the drivers for that hardware and/or the
manufacturers and/or owners to provide information about how to avoid the
problem.

I'd consider this bug report invalid.

I don't see any such option on the PDF Options dialog that appears

Issuing the following commands fixes the clock speed :
  sudo tickadj 9950

I have the same problem with a VIA Samuel 2 (Cyrix C3) CPU on a VIA EPIA

with the 2.6 kernels. On that server I'm currently running kernel
2.6.16.29 with debian patches under debian stable, but have previously
run kernels from 2.6.8 onwards all of which have this problem. This
server is running ntpdate every 5 minutes and has gained 1.7 seconds
each time, which sounds the same as your report. I'll have to try
tickadj and see if it helps.
