[Bug 1693778] [NEW] Viewing User accounts with phpMyAdmin and Percona 5.7 doesn't work on Ubuntu Xenial

2017-05-26 Thread autostatic
Public bug reported:

1) lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS
Release:16.04

2) apt-cache policy phpmyadmin
phpmyadmin:
  Installed: 4:4.5.4.1-2ubuntu2
  Candidate: 4:4.5.4.1-2ubuntu2

3) When browsing to "User accounts" in phpMyAdmin I'd like to see all
the available user accounts.

4) Viewing user accounts with the phpmyadmin package of Xenial and
Percona 5.7 doesn't work, you will be greeted with the following
message:

Your privilege table structure seems to be older than this MySQL
version!

This is not the case, this happens because phpMyAdmin doesn't recognize
the ServerType Percona is using. Attached a patch that should fix this
issue.

** Affects: phpmyadmin (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

** Tags: percona phpmyadmin

** Patch added: "Patch to fix privilege table structure warning"

[Bug 1650740] Re: dhclient depends on fstab 16.04LTS

2017-02-22 Thread autostatic
A workaround could be to recreate /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-
gnu/guestfs/supermin.d/init.tar.gz. So untar it, apply
https://github.com/libguestfs/libguestfs/commit/fd60be95091a1923e108f72caf251f5549eeccd0
onto the untarred init file, compress it again and copy it back to
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/guestfs/supermin.d/init.tar.gz.

[Bug 1591411] Re: systemd-logind must be restarted every ~1000 SSH logins to prevent a ~25 second delay

2016-10-13 Thread autostatic
Tested with an Openstack 16.04 instance and having Mike Pontillo's while
loop hammering ten times in parallel on it. With dbus 1.10.6-1ubuntu3 I
quickly got logins taking about 25 seconds, after having installed the
dbus package from the sil2100 PPA I couldn't reproduce the issue
anymore.

[Bug 1019547] Re: Terminal text appears before Plymouth at logout and shutdown.

2012-11-04 Thread AutoStatic
This is quite an annoying bug. No way to adjust Plymouth so that it
kicks in immediately? And it's unknown what is causing the delay? And
would it be possible to just blank the screen before exec /bin/plymouth
quit is being run?

[Bug 891604] Re: Kernel crashes after mounting Windows share with CIFS

2012-01-12 Thread AutoStatic
Even though the kernel doesn't crash anymore I do have the same issues as #22
when the connection with the Windows server on which resides the CIFS mount has
any hiccups. My system doesn't lock up but issuing a ls command on the CLI or
opening my home directory with my file manager doesn't work. Only thing that
works is trying to unmount -f -l the CIFS mount which takes ages.
I can't really test with a 3.2rc kernel because I have these issues on my
office machine where I need virtualization and the 3.2 kernel packages don't
work with VMWare.

Best,

Jeremy

With the 3.0.0-13 kernel I have no more issues regarding CIFS. I do have
a new issue, now with Fuse. I'll open a new report for it.

[Bug 891604] Re: Kernel crashes after mounting Windows share with CIFS

2011-11-18 Thread AutoStatic
@ #4 (jsalisbury):

uname -a
Linux jj-ubuntu 3.2.0-030200rc2-generic #20151435 SMP Tue Nov 15 19:36:01
UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I'll be closely monitoring the system log regarding the CIFS mount. I'm
using pam_mount to mount a share on a WIndows 2008 server.

[Bug 704542] Re: [STAGING] line6usb kernel module fails to load: unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter

I think this is related to the linux-backports-modules-alsa-lucid-
generic package. The line6usb kernel module fails to load on a machine
with this package installed but loads fine on a machine that has the
default ALSA packages installed.

[Bug 621188] [NEW] redordMyDesktop error: Window size specification out of bounds!

2010-08-20 Thread AutoStatic
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: recordmydesktop

When using recordMyDesktop with JACK I get the following error message
when using recordMydesktop:

#This is the command given at initialization:
recordmydesktop -o /home/username/out.ogv --fps 15 -x 151 -y 163 --width 863
--height 562 --channels 2 --freq 48000 --v_quality 63 --s_quality 10 --workdir
/tmp --use-jack system:capture_1 system:capture_2

#recordMyDesktop stderror output:
Window size specification out of bounds!(current resolution:2560x1024)

When I don't specify JACK as the audio output recordMyDesktop runs fine.

Source package: recordmydesktop-0.3.8.1+svn602-1ubuntu1

3) recordMyDesktop should start recording and should use the JACK ports
I assigned as the sound inputs.

After installing Lucid I run into this issue too. And to my surprise the
whole 'Fill screen' option in the Appearance Settings - Background
window is gone and it's not present in gconf-editor either. And
apparently this was dropped in Gnome 2.28. Just like the menu icons that
were dropped along the way too. And GUADEC was right around the corner
this year... ;)

[Bug 599396] [NEW] Mount failed message during boot

2010-06-28 Thread AutoStatic
Public bug reported:

When booting Lucid Lynx 10.04 with the 2.6.31-10-rt kernel the boot
sequence hangs a while on the following message:

mount: mounting none on /dev failed: No such device

This is probably due to the fact that the 2.6.31 kernel cannot mount the
devtmpfs filesystem and falls back to using tmpfs instead. So basically
this message is harmless but is a bit annoying nonetheless and could
cause some confusion.

Best,

Jeremy

[Bug 432614] Re: Please upgrade to 2.10

2010-02-01 Thread AutoStatic
I second that, so maybe it could be done for Lucid Lynx before the
feature freeze? Also rox 2.5 doesn't work on Karmic, it's compiled with
GTK 2.10.3 but Karmic has GTK 2.18.3. I'll file a separate bugreport for
that.

[Bug 515701] [NEW] rox with the option --pinboard crashes

2010-02-01 Thread AutoStatic
Public bug reported:

Source package:

jer...@soushi:~$ which rox
/usr/bin/rox
jer...@soushi:~$ dpkg -S /usr/bin/rox
rox-filer: /usr/bin/rox

1) jer...@soushi:~$ lsb_release -rd

2) jer...@soushi:~$ apt-cache policy rox-filer

100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3) When using IceWM for exemple I want 'rox --pinboard=test' to take
over my desktop and to show a 'home' icon

4) What happened instead:
jer...@soushi:~$ rox --pinboard=test
jer...@soushi:~$ The program 'rox' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAtom (invalid Atom parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 600 error_code 5 request_code 20 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

Possible solution: update rox to 2.10, it's now at 2.5, see bug #432614.
Rox is also compiled with GTK 2.10.3 while Karmic has GTK 2.18.3, maybe
that could be a cause too:

[Bug 454082] Re: ubuntustudio-controls fail to write NICE settings

2009-12-01 Thread AutoStatic
Tried to finetune my Karmic installation with the help of Ubuntu Studio
Controls. These were my findings:
- When I tick 'enable raw 1394' I'm confronted with a message about privilages.
English is not my native tongue but shouldn't it be privileges instead of
privilages?
- Ubuntu Studio Controls messes up my /etc/security/limits.conf. After clicking
'Apply' it looks like this:

@audio - rtprio 90   # maximum realtime priority

unlimited # maximum locked-in-memory address space (KB)

So only the rtprio line got added correctly, the other lines to configure the
nice and memlock settings are either not added or just garbled.
- Ubuntu Studio Controls messes up my /lib/udev/rules.d/50-udev-default.rules.
After enabling raw 1394 this gets added to the file:

# do not delete static device nodes
ACTION==remove, NAME==, TEST==/lib/udev/devices/%k,
OPTIONS+=ignore_remove
KERNEL==raw1394,  GROUP=video
ACTION==remove, NAME==?*, TEST==/lib/udev/devices/$name,
OPTIONS+=ignore_remove

The raw1394 just gets added somewhere, in this case as the last but one line.
In my opinion it would look cleaner if this line gets added to the Firewire
stanza. Or that a seperate file gets created, like 50-raw-firewire.rules, with
this line in it, to make sure this line doesn't get deleted by any future
updates that might overwrite the 50-udev-defaults.rules file. I'm also
wondering if nothing got deleted from the 50-udev-defaults.rules file.
- After using Ubuntu Studio Controls I still couldn't use my Firewire device
because 1. I was not a member of the Video group, 2. the raw1394 module still
needs to get loaded and 3. /dev/raw1394 wasn't chgrp'd to video. Maybe it's an
idea to integrate these steps in a future version?

Best,

Jeremy

Hello,

I own the same notebook and I can confirm the audio issue. I also added
pci=noacpi as a kernel option but AFAIK both CPU's are being used:

[ 24.417878] CPU0: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P8400 @ 2.26GHz stepping 06
[ 24.633472] CPU0 attaching sched-domain:

[ 43.335482] ACPI: Processor [CPU0] (supports 8 throttling states)
[ 171.564473] CPU0 attaching NULL sched-domain.
[ 171.586129] CPU0 attaching sched-domain:

[ 171.564480] CPU1 attaching NULL sched-domain.
[ 171.586141] CPU1 attaching sched-domain:

If the bug-reporter does not come up with the requested information I'm
willing to do so.
