[Bug 1737973] [NEW] python-requests doesn't specify Multi-Arch in debian/control
Public bug reported: The package python-requests doesn't declare multi-arch correctly. According to the spec [1], because it's "Architecture: all", I believe "Multi-Arch: foreign" should be specified so that the native package can be installed. As an example of where this currently fails: $ sudo apt-get install ceph-common:armhf Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: ceph-common:armhf : Depends: librbd1:armhf (= 10.2.9-0ubuntu0.16.04.1) but it is not going to be installed Depends: python-cephfs:armhf (= 10.2.9-0ubuntu0.16.04.1) but it is not going to be installed Depends: python-rados:armhf (= 10.2.9-0ubuntu0.16.04.1) but it is not going to be installed Depends: python-rbd:armhf (= 10.2.9-0ubuntu0.16.04.1) but it is not going to be installed Depends: python-requests:armhf but it is not installable Depends: librados2:armhf (>= 0.87) but it is not going to be installed Depends: libradosstriper1:armhf (>= 0.93) but it is not going to be installed Depends: librgw2:armhf (>= 10.2.9) but it is not going to be installed E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages. $ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS Release:16.04 $ apt-cache policy python-requests python-requests: Installed: 2.9.1-3 Candidate: 2.9.1-3 Version table: *** 2.9.1-3 500 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/main i386 Packages 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/main amd64 Packages 500 http://ports.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-ports xenial/main armhf Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MultiarchSpec#Dependencies_involving_Architecture:_all_packages ** Affects: python-requests (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1737973 Title: python-requests doesn't specify Multi-Arch in debian/control To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-requests/+bug/1737973/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

While it may be up for debate whether most of the Chinese speakers who easily outnumber native English speakers have access to and know how to handle English input... [Bug 1663924] Re: filterCaseSensitivity doesn't work when used in SortFilterModel
The property can't work: QSortFilterProxyModel.sortCaseSensitivity doesn't change the pattern and the superclass doesn't have any signals, making it impossible to manually update the results. We 'could' consider overriding the property to make this work. However, I'm not sure it's particularly useful: in your example, new RegExp("^" + searchTerms, "i") achieves the same as setting the superclass property, as does using a literal regular expression such as /^B/i. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1663924 Title: filterCaseSensitivity doesn't work when used in SortFilterModel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-ui-toolkit/+bug/1663924/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1510968] Re: external monitor grid units are not set correctly
On the UI Toolkit side, the introduction of MainWindow (bug 587431) makes units window-specific - so long as Unity (or QtUbuntu, more specifically) provides the right value, the resolution will be correct. ** Branch linked: lp:~ubuntu-sdk-team/ubuntu-ui-toolkit/outTheWindow ** Changed in: ubuntu-ui-toolkit (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Fix Committed ** Changed in: ubuntu-ui-toolkit (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Christian Dywan (kalikiana) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1510968 Title: external monitor grid units are not set correctly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1510968/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1504551] Re: Text input popover and selection cursors not oriented properly in shell
On the side of UI Toolkit this is implemented via the new MainWindow.visualRoot property. [Bug 1573118] Re: "units" context property is app-global
Unity, and any app for that matter, needs to switch to using the MainWindow in place of a (QQuick)Window as the root item (or MainView in the case of legacy apps). Currently it's in the Labs module, in staging. "units" is a regular property of MainWindow, as well as "i18n" and soon "theme". It also has an "organizationDomain" property as required by Unity. ** Changed in: ubuntu-ui-toolkit (Ubuntu) Status: In Progress => Fix Committed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1573118 Title: "units" context property is app-global To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-ui-toolkit/+bug/1573118/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1647415] Re: units.gu() emits changed signal before completion
The MainWindow went in, so I will consider this sorted, provided one is using it - by design, as I said, I don't see a way to make it work with context properties. [Bug 1576282] Re: Snaps built from deb can't be gettext translated
Responding to my own comment: indeed we only need to count the memory used by individual files accessed by a snap on top of the compressed size on disk. Which for a single locale is negligible. So it's worth re- considering including the locales with each platform snap. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1576282 Title: Snaps built from deb can't be gettext translated To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1576282/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1576282] Re: Snaps built from deb can't be gettext translated
Perhaps I'm thinking about it wrong - but the uncompressed data has to reside in memory at least? Even if it's not "on disk" per se. So having an extra 100M in memory could still be quite bad.
It's both. LOCPATH needs to be set when launching the application because otherwise an absolute path will be used. And locales-all contains data such as time and date formats or how to deal with numbers. I created a proof of concept snap providing the same languages available on the click-based phone images. That brings the 127M of installed size down to 34.5M - the snap (as noted in https://github.com/ubuntu/snapcraft-desktop-helpers/pull/12) is indeed a mere 3.5M, which is nice for OTAs, but it grows when unpacked. Just to highlight why there's different numbers being talked about. https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-sdk-team/+snap/ubuntu-language-pack-base -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1576282 Title: Snaps built from deb can't be gettext translated To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1576282/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
