[Bug 1750889] Re: GNOME Terminal scrollbar looks weird on clean GNOME session under Wayland
I'm seeing something similar on Bionic when using the Communitheme on Wayland session, where the scrollbar also goes past the bottom of the window. It does not show up when using Xorg. I think the problem also appears under the Ambiance theme on Wayland, but I do not have a screenshot immediately available demonstrating this. [Bug 1719744] [NEW] Timers are not displayed for my recipes or when printed
Public bug reported: I added a few recipes to GNOME Recipes, but when I view my recipes under the "My Recipes" category from the main screen, the timers are not shown, instead only showing a link consisting of a single diamond-like character (see screenshot). [Bug 1251441] Re: [Fujitsu LIFEBOOK T900] Stylus input stops working after resuming from suspend
Okay, this is interesting. I found that I can confirm this bug on Saucy using the 3.8.13.12 mainline kernel version, which according to http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/info/kernel-version-map.html is equivalent to the 3.8.0-34.49 kernel I used in my test of updated Raring (and there was no bug there). I expected the 3.8.13.13 kernel to exhibit the bug (it does as well) and the 3.8.13.12 kernel to not show it based on what I saw in Raring, so this surprised me. Is it possible that this bug is not due to the kernel? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1251441 Title: [Fujitsu LIFEBOOK T900] Stylus input stops working after resuming from suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1251441/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1251441] Re: [Fujitsu LIFEBOOK T900] Stylus input stops working after resuming from suspend
Okay, I have tested several more versions back, and I can confirm the bug is present all the way back to at least the 3.8.9-Raring version (3.8.8-Raring is where I begin to run into problems like those described in Comment #20, and the stylus stops working altogether).
@Christopher M. Penalver: I went to bisect the Ubuntu kernel versions like I mentioned in the last comment, but the problem is present all the way back in the 3.9.0-0.1 kernel (the earliest published version for Saucy AFAICT), and attempting to run any earlier kernels from Raring results in a stretched screen, no working WiFi/USB, and the stylus not working at all. I'm not sure if I am able to proceed and reliably pinpoint exactly where the last good kernel version is given this, unless this is normal. I have not done a bisection before and I am not sure if this means I am doing it correctly. Should I proceed to the next step and start checking out the source via git to build, and aim for revisions before 3.9.0-0.1? Sorry for the delay since the last update. My family's Christmas excitement had to die down first. :P I've completed the Bisecting Ubuntu releases section of the linked wiki page from comment #16, and found that the bug is reproducible in a fresh install of 13.10 (both before and after updates), but not reproducible in 13.04 (both before and after updates). [Bug 733349] Re: Minimize Application's Windows upon clicking its Launcher Icon
I came here after seeing this bug resurface in a Google+ Community post. I agree with #346 above: Unity just doesn't work that way, and is not supposed to work that way. I personally never used this requested functionality even on Windows; the minimize button is a much more obvious way to handle that. Advanced users bothered by this can just switch to another DE that they can then customize to their liking. Contrary to what some very vocal people above and elsewhere have said, not everyone wants this on their desktop. The launcher icon is supposed to be for launching and spreading applications. Perhaps a better solution would be to click the icon of an already-running application to activate the spread, but include a couple overlaid dash-style buttons in the background to minimize all windows or the currently selected window. I'm not a designer, so I have no idea how good this actually would be in practice, but IMHO it would be a pretty good compromise and more usable to me than the suggested alternative here. [Bug 915945] Re: Unreadable labels with light wallpaper
Multiple text shadows can be defined. This was how the Salience theme project got around a similar bug ( Bug 1025443 ), by defining four shadows for desktop items: up, down, left and right. @Mark Chapman This bug is marked Fix Released for Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and 12.10. You can simply get the fix by running updates through the Update Manager if you have not done so already. [Bug 1157503] [NEW] 1024x768 is the highest resolution available on Toshiba Satellite A505-S6960
Public bug reported: After updates on my Raring Ringtail install a couple days ago, Ubuntu no longer displays at my laptop's real resolution of 1366x768 anymore. It displays instead in a square 1024x768 box in the center of my screen instead, with black rectangles on either side of the screen. Figuring the problem might just have been a buggy update, I made a LiveUSB with a fresh ISO and can confirm the bug is there in the live session, too. Note that GRUB and Plymouth still display suing the whole display at full resolution. The bug is visible in the login screen and the desktop. I have not overwritten my current Raring install yet, so I can go back to that for additional debugging work if need be. I'm filing this bug report from within the LiveUSB session using xdiagnose. This is a pretty nasty regression and I'd like the sides of my screen back, please. :) A screenshot of the problem on my HDD install is available here: https://plus.google.com/109509247327281928543/posts/EeGWaDrfQij ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.04 Package: xorg 1:7.7+1ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.8.0-13.22-generic 3.8.3 Uname: Linux 3.8.0-13-generic x86_64 .tmp.unity.support.test.0: ApportVersion: 2.9.1-0ubuntu1 Architecture: amd64 CasperVersion: 1.330 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: compiz CompositorUnredirectDriverBlacklist: '(nouveau|Intel).*Mesa 8.0' CompositorUnredirectFSW: true Date: Wed Mar 20 01:01:23 2013 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: raring DistroVariant: ubuntu ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes, if not too technical GraphicsCard: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:2a42] (rev 07) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems Device [1179:ff10] Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems Device [1179:ff10] LiveMediaBuild: Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail - Alpha amd64 (20130318) MachineType: TOSHIBA Satellite A505 MarkForUpload: True ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=set LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcKernelCmdLine: noprompt cdrom-detect/try-usb=true file=/cdrom/preseed/username.seed boot=casper initrd=/casper/initrd.lz quiet splash -- maybe-ubiquity SourcePackage: xorg UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 05/25/2010 dmi.bios.vendor: INSYDE dmi.bios.version: 1.80 dmi.board.asset.tag: Base Board Asset Tag dmi.board.name: Portable PC dmi.board.vendor: TOSHIBA dmi.board.version: Base Board Version dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Tag dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: Chassis Manufacturer dmi.chassis.version: Chassis Version dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnINSYDE:bvr1.80:bd05/25/2010:svnTOSHIBA:pnSatelliteA505:pvrPSAP0U-007007:rvnTOSHIBA:rnPortablePC:rvrBaseBoardVersion:cvnChassisManufacturer:ct10:cvrChassisVersion: dmi.product.name: Satellite A505 dmi.product.version: PSAP0U-007007 dmi.sys.vendor: TOSHIBA version.compiz: compiz 1:0.9.9~daily13.03.08-0ubuntu1 version.ia32-libs: ia32-libs N/A version.libdrm2: libdrm2 2.4.42-0ubuntu2 version.libgl1-mesa-dri: libgl1-mesa-dri 9.0.3-0ubuntu1 version.libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental: libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental N/A version.libgl1-mesa-glx: libgl1-mesa-glx 9.0.3-0ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg-core: xserver-xorg-core 2:1.13.3-0ubuntu2b1 version.xserver-xorg-input-evdev: xserver-xorg-input-evdev 1:2.7.3-0ubuntu2b2 version.xserver-xorg-video-ati: xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:7.1.0-0ubuntu1b1 version.xserver-xorg-video-intel: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.21.4-0ubuntu1b1 version.xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:1.0.6-0ubuntu3b1 xserver.bootTime: Tue Mar 19 20:57:56 2013 xserver.configfile: default xserver.errors: xserver.logfile: /var/log/Xorg.0.log xserver.version: 2:1.13.3-0ubuntu2b1 xserver.video_driver: intel ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug compiz-0.9 raring ubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1157503 Title: 1024x768 is the highest resolution available on Toshiba Satellite A505-S6960 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1157503/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
