Re: [Bug 1241632] Re: LDAP support auth not working

2013-10-24 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
* Konstantin Khomoutov flatw...@users.sourceforge.net [2013-10-18 17:18:45

Looks like you've hit [1] because Saucy has Erlang 16B packaged [2]
while Debian Testing (from which this version of ejabberd had supposedly
been pulled) has the previous Erlang version packaged, R15B [3] and so
the bug is not triggered there.

Well, [3] is wheezy (which is stable now), not testing. So the issue
also affects Debian testing. :)

Given that 2.1.12 does fix the issue, I plan to update to 2.1.13 in the
next few days in Debian to fix this issue for Debian. For saucy, we
would need to pull in the change to a saucy update given that saucy has
been released already.

 Enjoy,
Rhonda

[Bug 993378] Re: pastebinit sould be a dependency

2013-09-18 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
The question is, why be fixated on one specific client? There are
multiple clients, and most of the time, handing the URL to a pastebin
site instead of asking the users to install yet another software is much
more straight forward and helpful. In the channels I hang out often
enough a pastebin URL is part of the topic to point people at.

I'm not really that much convinced that this is the best approach to the
issue. Why not tell users instead the URL to the sites and use the web
interface which is capable of what they might need directly? Is it
because they might be stuck without a graphical environment? Is it that
common of an issue to hook into yet another
dependency/recommends/suggests loop.

Also, you point out, fedora has something installed by default - that
doesn't sound like it's done through a dependency, is it?

Just some thoughts. :)

Dear Gabor!

The point of this bug is that Ubuntu translators would like to translate
the site as a Launchpad project.

That's not what the bug description says, but now I noticed that it's
in the bug subject/title, my bad. :)

Because it has a web based translation tool, which lowers the barrier
of entry to many languages, whose translators find it
difficult/inconvenient to work with po files in a VCS. Yes, there are
 such people out there :).

Sure. Then though, I am uncertain about how it could work. The
translation should definitely get feeded back into git, I do not want to
have the translation just pulled from launchpad on the packages site to
have it available there, it should be available for all users of the
code base. I know little about launchpad translation in that respect,
so if someone who has more insight can notify me about how this could
get done, I'm fine with it. :)

[Bug 392750] Re: Ubuntu: Make packages.ubuntu.com translatable in Launchpad

2013-05-24 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
You can contact me any time in case you need any help with getting
translations in. The initial report and still current bug description
doesn't make any sense to me because the site currently *is* available
in different languages and translated already quite a fair amount of it.

The packages.ubuntu.com site has some additional strings, I will have to
look into how I can make them available for translating, either directly
in the master branch (preferably, to avoid merge troubles on string/code
changes), or one can fetch the po file from the ubuntu-master branch
which hopefully should contain those additional strings.

I can look into it in the next weeks whether the additional strings are
in there and if not, bring them in - but please don't hold your breath,
I'm currently pretty busy with things ...

Thanks for the headsup! And ... I noticed that the package descriptions
aren't there anymore at all. It seems like there have been some changes
to the Packages files in ubuntu about which I didn't get notified, so I
am not aware what exactly was changed there and will have to reverse
engineer the issue again. This also might take a fair amount of time
until I get to it, and I'm sorry for that, but priorities are
priorities, and workload is workload, and I have no sponsor for that
work. ;)

Enjoy!

[Bug 1174010] Re: [packaging]virtualbox-guest-dkms or dkms should depend on linux-headers

2013-04-30 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
Just for the record, because Henry Lin did contact me via email, the
packages site does display correct information here, the Packages file
for quantal contains the Recommends from dkms to linux-headers.

What distributions are you really using? Because your original install
screenshot did show a virtual-guest-dkms version that isn't in quantal
but raring? In quantal everything was correct, it's raring that you seem
to be using and which is causing you the trouble. And indeed, dkms on
quantal doesn't recommend linux-headers anymore.

And when looking into the changelog of raring for dkms, one finds that
linux-headers got removed with this rationale:

dkms (2.2.0.3-1.1ubuntu2) raring; urgency=low

  * Don't Recommend any linux-headers packages, our installers
all install headers matching your kernel anyway, and this
dependency causes more problems than it solves (LP: #960770)

 -- Adam Conrad adcon...@ubuntu.com Wed, 31 Oct 2012 11:28:52 +

So you should look into that bugreport and speak with Adam (I subscribed

[Bug 1052944] Re: System bell ignoring preferences

2012-12-26 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
Thank you for your report. This bugreport though has nothing to do with
the beep package. The settings you change have no influence over what
the beep utility emits. Please be referred to the manual page of beep on
how to change the duration (-l switch). You can't change the loudness
via beep itself, that might be a setting in your sound card's
preferences, depending on whether you allow your system to directly use
the pc speaker or have it only emulated.

Thanks,

[Bug 999378] Re: package wesnoth-1.8-core 1:1.8.5-1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2

2012-05-30 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
Actually, the divert handling in 1.10 has to get dropped. I missed that
somehow when 1.10 got stable and didn't have 1.8 and 1.10 installed
side-by-side. My bad. :/

I will prepare a patch for that and run it through the stable release
process. In the meantime the only way around it that I can suggest is
deinstall either wesnoth-1.8-core or wesnoth-1.10-core and keep the
version you plan to play for the time being.

[Bug 999378] Re: package wesnoth-1.8-core 1:1.8.5-1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2

2012-05-30 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
Actually, from looking closer, I've done it (almost) properly in 1.10
and never fixed the code in 1.8. If you install wesnoth-1.8 *before*
you install wesnoth-1.10 (which is the usual flow of things, since
wesnoth-1.8 is the older stable release ...) it works and the divert
will stay with wesnoth-1.8. If you though install wesnoth-1.10 *before*
you install wesnoth-1.8 you stumble into the issue. Installation order
is important here, so if you want to have both versions around, first
deinstall wesnoth-1.10, then install wesnoth-1.8 first and wesnoth-1.10
second.

While I don't really understand why one would install wesnoth-1.8 after
installing wesnoth-1.10, the fix for wesnoth-1.10 is like mentioned
above dropping the whole divert handling, which I'll prepare within the
next few days. It will flow into the soonish to be uploaded 1.10.3
version, and I'll extract that part and run it through the stable update
process.

Enjoy!

[Bug 982534] Re: Please remove wesnoth-1.8 from precise

2012-04-16 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
One reason is that people can finish their campaigns that they started
in 1.8 before they do the upgrade to 1.10 - but still can upgrade their
ubuntu system without troubles. Also, the 1.8 stable tree is still
supported upstream, some people are still playing it, and it is not
possible to play multiplayer games with different stable versions, so
having only 1.10 in precise would force others to upgrade too, to
continue to be able to play with you.

Personally, I am fine with either: precise will be a LTS release, and
1.8 will probably be phased out upstream before precise reaches end of
life. I'm fine with whatever gets decided here. I am uncertain myself,
otherwise I would have done the decision already. :)

So long,
Rhonda

[Bug 920427] Re: Please sync wesnoth-1.9 1.9.14-1(universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2012-01-23 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
No, wesnoth-1.9 is explicitly blocked because it is a devel version.
If you want wesnoth-1.9 you can grab it from my PPA.

I am currently finalizing the wesnoth-1.10 package (new upstream devel
release) and *that* one will get synced, but wesnoth-1.9 won't.

Thanks for your interest and hopefully understanding,
Rhonda

[Bug 694665] Re: Square blocks shown instead of translated strings in some areas (when language is set to marathi)

2011-10-20 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
One thing to fix this is to disable the language from the selection
all together. This though might hinder translators in that language and
won't improve the situation to get the translation into better shape.
Thus I am setting this bugreport to status won't fix and suggested to
upstream translation team to at least also add font information into the
translation so that people interested in giving it a try will be able to
install the corresponding font and work from there. The competion state
of the translation though doesn't warrant any dependency on such a font
and thus none is included (and won't be, for the forseeable future).

As long as not even the basic wesnoth domain is translated completely
it doesn't make sense to have this language fully supported. There is
talks going on about potentially having a build switch to disable such
languages during the build process, but I'm uncertain whether that might
happen (and this is nothing that will happen inside Ubuntu or Debian,
this has to happen in the Upstream code).

Thanks for understanding,
Rhonda

[Bug 694665] Re: Square blocks shown instead of translated strings in some areas (when language is set to marathi)

2011-10-11 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
Marathi is one of the languages which isn't translated too well at all,
you can see the stats of the translation work of wesnoth here:
http://www.wesnoth.org/gettext/

Unfortunately it is even unknown to the developers whether the GUI code
would be able to cope with a font for that language. The only way to get
this bug fixed for me is thus to disable the language from selection,
at all. I'm uncertain if that is really something we should do, though.

Thanks for understanding,
Rhonda

[Bug 860326] [NEW] Please sync gitolite 2.0.3-1 (universe) from debian unstable (main)

2011-09-27 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
Public bug reported:

Please allow the new gitolite upload into oneiric. There are no reverse
dependency, but the packaging has been fixed some quite annoying issues
with respect to installation and getting things working right ahead, and
there are some rather convincing features in the new upstream version,
quoting the upstream changelog:

  - v2.0.3
  - gl-dont-panic replaced by more generic gl-admin-push

  - v2.0.2
  - self-service key management
  - (from-client install method is now loosely deprecated)
  - su-setperms and su-getperms, like su-expand -- allow an admin to get/set
perms on behalf of some user
  - 'delete-branch' ADC -- this is the most practical way to allow someone to
delete a branch that they themselves created; see commit message for
89b68bf

  - v2.0.1
  - hooklets allow you to have any number of site-local 'update hook'
scripts play nicely with gitolite
  - the include statement can now use globs -- makes some types of setups
so easy!
  - mirroring finally tested properly after v2
  - 'hub' adc (pull requests etc)
  - s3backup ADC contributed by Bremner
  - warn() and die() are now logged

[Bug 850347] Re: Please sync spl 1.0~pre6-3 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2011-09-26 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
Thanks for the headsup, Adam. Though, the multiarch patch was added a
week after I did request the sync, I'll try to incorporate it in Debian,
and I wonder why I missed the mail about that upload (the changelog is
also misleading, because the multiarch patch isn't a remaining change,
it was added explicitly in the latest upload).

... and I have no clue what the comment with respect to reverse-apply
is meant to mean. But then, I don't find anything in the diff that would
hint in that direction, I'm just trying to get rid of the need of an
ubuntu diff so sync works and no merge effort is needed, at all. Daniel
could/should have contacted me directly. :)

Thanks,
Rhonda

Hi!

* Toni Ruottu toni.ruo...@iki.fi [2011-07-23 21:42:33 CEST]:
I have not been following the discussion lately. The problem used to
repeat every now and then when the game server and the version in Ubuntu
went out of sync. This might be solved, or it might require serious
 pondering to get right.

The Games team is looking for sponsors of a server that will be able to
solve this issue for wesnoth and other games properly. Unfortunately
noone turned up yet that is willing to do so. Without a dedicated
server for that task this won't be solveable, sorry.

Though, like written, it's not something to worry now with respect to
wesnoth, and I plan to offer backports for major upstream versions that
would mean not being compatibility for old clients (but even then,
upstreams keeps the old stable release running for a while -- it
currently still has 1.6 running)

 Enjoy!

* Frederic the wise 70...@bugs.launchpad.net [2011-07-23 14:13:15 CEST]:
And it is 2011 and this is still broken. Ought I to move to windows to
play open source games? I have waited four years.

Actually, I can't follow you. There is no supported Ubuntu release that
can *not* connect to the official servers. Can you please be more
specific on which version of wesnoth you are speaking about?

While saying that, 1.6 servers might go away upstream wise during the
lifetime of lucid. I am willing to provide backports of the later stable
releases if that would be acceptable to solve this bug. Actually that
would be the only option to provide that because the official server
won't even host 1.8 stable release forever, and this will happen again
for the subsequent releases.

Other than this, I fear the Ubuntu project/Canonical is not
able/willing to afford to provide a server that would host network
games. So running a server on your own to host network games for older
releases is the only option you've got.

 Enjoy,
Rhonda

[Bug 798286] [NEW] Sync libasyncns 0.8-2 (main) from Debian unstable (main)

2011-06-16 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
Public bug reported:

Please sync libasyncns 0.8-2 (main) from Debian unstable (main)

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
The ubuntu update was done to get the new upstream version into ubuntu - there
is no significant diff inside the ubuntu version that would mean we should keep
the history.

Changelog entries since current oneiric version 0.8-0ubuntu2:

libasyncns (0.8-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Build and include the documentation: (Closes: #586272)
 + debian/rules: build the documentation.
+ debian/control: build-depend on doxygen to build the documentation,
 + debian/libasyncns-dev.docs: include the documentation.
  * debian/control: bumped Standards-Version to 3.9.2 (no change required).
  * debian/libasyncns-dev.doc-base: declare the documentation to doc-base.

This issue looks like had issues with your filesystem at that time. Did
you try to install the package again and did it work then? Turn up a
different error?

Would be nice if you could provide additional information, thanks.

[Bug 677870] Re: Beep not working in 10.10

2011-06-14 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
It's not beep that is not working here, it's the general environment
that disabled pc speaker support completely - or claims that it should
work through the soundcard now.

Please bring this up with the sound drivers you are using that they
don't offer the pcspeaker through the sound system but on the other hand
blacklisting the module. There is nothing that can be done from the beep
package's point of view. People decided to disable the pcspeaker, and
that is the facility that beep is using, so we are unfortunately at a
dead end here.

Feel free to use this bugreport for attaching it to the corresponding
packages that blacklist the pcspeaker and discuss it with the
responsible people there, or bring it up as new bugreport there.

 Thanks,
Rhonda

Also please be notified that launchpad is the bug tracker for Ubuntu,
not for Debian. If you want to report issues with the packages in
Debian, please do that on bugs.debian.org, e.g. through using the
reportbug utility.

Stating that, given that the nickcolor script seems to cause you trouble
I would suggest you to contact the script author (should be visible
within the script source) for support.

[Bug 684393] Re: $PATH discrepency when ~/bin exists

2010-12-08 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
   Hi!

Actually I fail to see the security impact of this. If a user creates
the bin directory themself and put stuff in there themself then it's on
their own intention, not? I really fail to see the security part of the
issue. Actually it makes sense to have ~/bin first in PATH to be able to
override system tools intentionally.

I highly doubt that this will be changed on dubious reasoning and
actually wonder why it was forwarded to Debian.

To be honest, if a malicious person is able to put an ls program into

Re: [Bug 674783] Re: Misplaced savegame files after update to 1.8

2010-11-16 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
* koanhead 674...@bugs.launchpad.net [2010-11-16 03:05:05 CET]:
 aptitude search wesnoth:

 Package: wesnoth
 State: not installed
 Version: 1:1.8.5-1~lucid1

It doesn't appear from this that wesnoth-1.6 is available in Ubuntu's
 repositories.

Actually it is available in lucid. See rather apt-cache policy
wesnoth. You seem to have enabled lucid-backports and pulled in wesnoth
from there because the wesnoth package in lucid actually is at version
1:1.6.5-1. See the version overview on packages.ubuntu.com:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/wesnoth

You will have to downgrade the wesnoth package explicitly to the
version from lucid. Given that you used aptitude search I hope you are
familiar with the aptitude interface. When you search for wesnoth in
there, press v to view all versions. Then press + on the 1.6.5 version
explicitly. It might well be that you'll have to then clear up some
broken packages through that move, and I hope it won't mark other
packages for removal, but that should be possible to work out without
too much trouble.

 Enjoy!

Re: [Bug 674783] Re: Misplaced savegame files after update to 1.8

2010-11-15 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
* koanhead 674...@bugs.launchpad.net [2010-11-13 22:17:59 CET]:
Thanks for letting me know, I will try installing wesnoth-old and see
how that goes; the update seems to have removed the old version.

Right. wesnoth-1.8 now comes with an unversioned package that will
always pull in the latest stable release. Unfortunately this removes
wesnoth version 1.6 because that one didn't had the versioned packages,
so if one wants to keep both wesnoth versions around, the wesnoth
package itself needs to stick at 1.6 and wesnoth-1.8 has to get pulled
in explicitly through the wesnoth-1.8 package.

Unfortunately there isn't a more helpful approach to the switch. At
least now it's possible to install them side-by-side, which wasn't
possible from 1.4 to 1.6 :)

 Enjoy!

[Bug 674783] Re: Misplaced savegame files after update to 1.8

2010-11-13 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
Please be notified that the wesnoth 1.6 branch and the wesnoth 1.8
branch are incompatible with each other. You can't continue games that
were started with 1.6 in 1.8 because of deeper changes to balancing and
the campaigns themself. That's the reason why I actually started the
approach to make it possible to have the different stable wesnoth
releases installable side-by-side. See also the explenation in
/usr/share/doc/wesnoth-1.8/NEWS.Debian.gz about this.

Either install wesnoth (1.6) back and continue your games in there, or
start the campaign from new with 1.8 (and use your knowledge about good
approaches to the scenarios ;)).

Enjoy!

[Bug 671903] [NEW] please remove and sync blacklist wesnoth-1.9

2010-11-06 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: wesnoth-1.9

   Hi!

The wesnoth-1.9 source package builds the development branch of
wesnoth. The development branch is just uploaded to Debian as
convenience for giving it some testing area. It is not meant to get
released within Debian, and I don't want to file the removal report
during the freeze period, I might too easily forget about it. ;)

wesnoth-1.8 is there, and when the next development gets stable again, it will
of course get included!

** Description changed:

+ The following was posted to oss-security:

  Date: Wed, 25 Aug 2010 14:52:52 -0400
  From: Dan Rosenberg dan.j.rosenb...@gmail.com
Subject: [oss-security] CVE request: CouchDB insecure library loading
(Debian/Ubuntu only)

I discovered that the /usr/bin/couchdb script on Debian/Ubuntu sets an
insecure LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable, such that libraries
from the current directory are loaded. If a local attacker placed a
maliciously crafted shared library in a directory and an administrator
were tricked into launching CouchDB from this directory, arbitrary
code execution could be achieved. This vulnerability is only
triggered when the /usr/bin/couchdb script is executed explicitly,
since the init script (/etc/init.d/couchdb) changes the current
  directory before launching CouchDB.

The vulnerability was introduced by Debian patch
  mozjs1.9_ldlibpath.patch on 3/24/2009.

[Bug 629797] [NEW] Sync openarena 0.8.5-4 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2010-09-03 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
Public bug reported:

Please sync openarena 0.8.5-4 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

Changelog entries since current maverick version 0.8.5-3:

openarena (0.8.5-4) unstable; urgency=low

  * Build a second copy of the game logic and install it in a subdirectory.
It turns out that OpenArena 0.8.1 and 0.8.5 aren't network-compatible.
  * Depend on openarena-data (= 0.8.5-3~) which causes us to load the
0.8.1-compatible game logic whenever the upstream version would use
0.8.1's bytecode (Closes: #592965)

2010-09-03 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
Public bug reported:

Please sync gitolite 1.5.4-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

Explanation of FeatureFreeze exception:
The changelog should explain most - it's an important translation update

that don't have any impact in the default setup but might be considered
helpful by some.

Changelog entries since current maverick version 1.5.3-1:

and debconf questions. Thanks! (closes: #588870)

Re: [Bug 627680] [NEW] Consider updating abook to 0.6pre2

2010-09-01 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
Hi!

* Erik Hahn erik_h...@gmx.de [2010-08-31 23:23:14 CEST]:
 Binary package hint: abook

Abook hasn't been updated for four years and thus a 0.6 final cannot be
 expected.

Well, I can understand losing trust in that to happen - though when
looking at the abook-devel list, there started a bit of traffic again
recently, and I finally got commit access. Hope to find some time to
devote to it soonish.

Please consider updating to the latest 0.6pre2 - it's not officially
stable but in 4 years, it's gotten plenty of testing.

Right, might finally make sense. Will try to turn this into a FFe
bugreport for a syncrequest from Debian experimental.

Someone has put a feature patch on the website in 2008, so we'd most
probably see a bugfix patch as well if there were any critical bugs.
There's nothing bad in Debian's BTS either.

Please though notice that the version in Debian only sits in
experimental so it doesn't have that big of exposure.

 Enjoy!

[Bug 619652] Re: FFe: Sync wesnoth-1.8 1:1.8.3-5 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2010-08-31 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
This git link is the diff between the two versions, which could be helpful:
http://git.debian.org/?p=pkg-games/wesnoth.git;a=commitdiff;h=debian/1.8.3-5;hp=debian/1.8.3-1

Please notice the addition to the debian/NEWS file which might be
considered relevant. Also the patch debian/patches/03wesnothd-name is
relevant, otherwise people won't be able to start a local server
conveniently enough.

And you can just ignore all the .in files. Those are just used to
generate the proper versioned files and are there just as convenience
and helpers, they aren't used in the build at all.

 Thanks in advance!
Rhonda

haha, thanks, great! I believe it makes most sense to ship the same
version in squeeze as in maverick maintenance wise? OTOH a bugfix 1.8.4
doesn't sound bad to me either, especially given that you're quite on
top of the bugs present in Ubuntu. At this point of the freeze, I'm
inclined to accept whatever you think can be maintained best :).

1:1.8.3-5 got ACKed by the Debian Release Team, so that is the version
that should go into Ubuntu for now. We'll see about 1.8.4 after my
vacation.

Thanks for your encouraging response. :)

[Bug 619650] [NEW] please remove wesnoth from maverick

2010-08-18 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: wesnoth

The wesnoth package in maverick should get removed. It is a not-
supported version, both Debian and upstream wise. It got removed from
Debian recently but was not meant to get shipped with squeeze. It's
successor wesnoth-1.8 now does build the unversioned metapackage wesnoth
itself so upgrades are eased when that one gets synced in (will be filed
as seperate bugreport).

Again, this is about the source package wesnoth - the source package
wesnoth-1.8 is a seperate one and shouldn't be touched!

 Thanks in advance for considering!

2010-08-18 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
* StefanPotyra stefan.pot...@informatik.uni-erlangen.de [2010-08-18 22:51:41
CEST]:
just saw your git diff for 1:1.8.3-4. I assume you prefer to have this
version in? Setting back to incomplete, for me either version is fine.
Please set back to confirmed once this is clarified.

I haven't even finished working on that diff when you wrote that. %-)
But yes, I want to have that in. Actually I would even prefer to have
the 1.8.4 upstream release in, but given that Debian is in freeze now it
was suggested to me by the Debian release team that I fix the issues in
1.8.3 first and get that into squeeze before addressing the 1.8.4 bugfix
release update.

So I'm fine with either - I hope to be able to upload 1:1.8.3-4 by
tomorrow, the build is currently running, the remaining issues are
addressed in git.

 Thanks. :)
Rhonda

[Bug 618341] [NEW] Sync openarena-data 0.8.5-2 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2010-08-15 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
Public bug reported:

Please sync openarena-data 0.8.5-2 (universe) from Debian unstable
(main)

Changelog entries since current maverick version 0.8.1-2:

openarena-data (0.8.5-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Include directory entries explicitly in the repacked PK3 files, so the
Setup-Player-Model menu can find the models (Closes: #591014)
  * Standards-Version: 3.9.1 (no changes needed)
  * Upload to unstable, now that 0.8.1+dfsg1-1 has migrated

 -- Simon McVittie s...@debian.org Tue, 03 Aug 2010 10:59:00 +0100

openarena-data (0.8.5-1) experimental; urgency=low

  * New upstream patch 0.8.5
  * Include the generated stub QVM files in the source tarball so we don't have
to keep repeating the process (they can be deleted at any time, and will
automatically be reinstated with identical contents)

 -- Simon McVittie s...@debian.org Thu, 29 Jul 2010 19:45:24 +0100

openarena-data (0.8.1+dfsg1-1) unstable; urgency=low

  [ Iain Lane ]
  * debian/control: Remove myself from Uploaders

  [ Simon McVittie ]
  * Add myself to Uploaders
  * Set source format to 3.0 (quilt)
  * Repack upstream tarball, unzipping the PK3 files for greater transparency
and removing QVM files that cannot be compiled with a Free compiler
(closes: #523323)
  * At build time, repack the PK3 files
  * At build time, replace the missing QVM files with a magic number that
causes openarena (= 0.8.1-8) to load native-code equivalents, and has
the same CRC-32 as the missing file for network compatibility
  * Breaks: openarena-data ( 0.8.1-8~) due to those changes
  * Split README.Debian into README.Debian and README.source, with the latter
going into more detail about the process
  * Add an empty debian/watch explaining why we're not uscan-compatible

[Bug 618342] [NEW] Sync openarena 0.8.5-3 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2010-08-15 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
Public bug reported:

Please sync openarena 0.8.5-3 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

Changelog entries since current maverick version 0.8.1-8:

openarena (0.8.5-3) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Add patch from oax r203 to fix server crashes if a player joins, then
rapidly leaves or dies (Closes: #592020)

 -- Simon McVittie s...@debian.org Sun, 08 Aug 2010 11:53:58 +0100

openarena (0.8.5-2) unstable; urgency=low

  [ Simon McVittie ]
  * Improve patch tagging/attribution
  * Add patch from ioquake3 r1788 to avoid buffer overflows
  * Upload to unstable, now that -data 0.8.1+dfsg1-1 has migrated

  [ Ansgar Burchardt ]
  * debian/control: Remove myself from Uploaders.

 -- Simon McVittie s...@debian.org Tue, 03 Aug 2010 10:58:54 +0100

openarena (0.8.5-1) experimental; urgency=low

  * New upstream version (Closes: #573995)
  * Repack upstream tarball to have engine and game subdirectories; the
engine subdirectory is from ioquake3 svn, and the game subdirectory
is from Open Arena Expanded (the stuff previously applied as a patch)
  * Apply some of the OpenArena changes to ioquake3 as Debian patches; move
the remaining OpenArena changes to debian/unapplied/
  * Adjust previous Debian patches to apply to this structure
  * q3arch.sh: be more pedantic about the listed architectures, since they
have to be kept in sync with q_platform.h (possibly fixing OA on mipsel,
if it will even run there)
  * Add a stub watch file explaining why we can't use uscan for OA
  * Standards-Version: 3.9.1 (no changes needed)
- one known Policy violation: the embedded libjpeg is filed as #495966
