[Bug 540306] Re: Xsane preview window not working in Karmic
I had this happening with the Xsane preview window in Ubuntu 20.04. Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS XSane version 0.999 XSane apt package version 0.999-8ubuntu2 (amd64) Solution was to open the preview window from the Windows menu, then closing XSane with ctrl+q. After launching XSane again preview window works correctly again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/540306 Title: Xsane preview window not working in Karmic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xsane/+bug/540306/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1893564] [NEW] Kernel issue and then system freeze when USB device goes to sleep
Public bug reported: This issue is very closely related to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1871143 I have a microcontroller plugged into a USB port, doing CDC-ACM. I have either Arduino or Cutecom open with a serial terminal to the device. After some idle time the microcontroller will go into sleep mode and therefore usb will stop working. On previous versions of Ubuntu the serial port will close and the Arduino or Cutecom terminal will be notified and closed too. On Ubuntu 20.04 this does not happen, and the UI will lock up. After some time the entire Gnome session will lock up and I need to force power cycle my computer. I have kept dmesg tailing in a terminal when this happens and I see the following log: [ +0.235966] usb 2-2: new full-speed USB device number 9 using xhci_hcd [ +0.148705] usb 2-2: config 1 interface 1 altsetting 0 endpoint 0x1 has invalid maxpacket 128, setting to 64 [ +0.03] usb 2-2: config 1 interface 1 altsetting 0 endpoint 0x81 has invalid maxpacket 128, setting to 64 [ +0.000541] usb 2-2: New USB device found, idVendor=0483, idProduct=5740, bcdDevice= 2.00 [ +0.01] usb 2-2: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3 [ +0.02] usb 2-2: Product: Foxtrackr [ +0.01] usb 2-2: Manufacturer: IngeniousThings [ +0.01] usb 2-2: SerialNumber: 024737453533 [ +0.035228] cdc_acm 2-2:1.0: ttyACM0: USB ACM device [ +0.000511] usbcore: registered new interface driver cdc_acm [ +0.01] cdc_acm: USB Abstract Control Model driver for USB modems and ISDN adapters [Aug30 17:48] D T: urb 12 failed submission with -22 [ +0.14] BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: 00020a831230 [ +0.03] #PF: supervisor read access in kernel mode [ +0.03] #PF: error_code(0x) - not-present page [ +0.02] PGD 0 P4D 0 [ +0.06] Oops: [#1] SMP PTI [ +0.05] CPU: 0 PID: 593 Comm: kworker/0:4 Not tainted 5.4.0-42-generic #46-Ubuntu [ +0.02] Hardware name: Dell Inc. [Bug 775705] [NEW] Random logout in Ubuntu 10.10 64bit
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 10.10, 64bit Since yesterday my computer randomly logs out and immediately displays the gdm login screen. This happened 4 times already since last night. Never before that. At least three of the times it happened right after I clicked the cross at the top to close a window. All three times it was a different program (pidgin, nautilus, chrome). I'm using the default ubuntu theme with gnome. I can not find anything in my logfiles that explaines this and all that I have done in the past 48h was to update my system with apt-get update. No new hardware or software was installed. A summary of the log files around the latest logout is attached. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: crash gdm logout random xserver -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/775705 Title: Random logout in Ubuntu 10.10 64bit -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 631185] Re: gnome-network-properties does not set apt proxy correctly
In Part1, it is clear that gnome-network-properties writes the proxy configuration to the /etc/apt/apt.conf file. This is correct, but the Ignored Hosts is not written to this file. [Bug 631188] [NEW] Addition of Cape Town
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: tzdata Ubuntu 10.10 and all before. Version Installed: 2010l-1 When installing Ubuntu 10.10beta Maverick, it is very difficult to click on Johannesburg as it is very near to Maseru, Maputo, Gaborone and Mbabane. There is also no country boundaries or dots for cities on the map. In Ubuntu-netbook, one can search for a city, but Cape Town does not return any results. Why Johannesburg? It is not even the capital of South Africa. What should happen: Africa/Cape Town should be added as a possible location to click on or to search for. People that are new to Ubuntu might not know that Johannesburg is the timezone and location to choose when in South Africa (Harare/Pretoria is the Windows one.). It is also rather difficult to find the exact spot on the map to click to choose Johannesburg, and the mouse pointer's tip is almost as big as the space between Gaborone and Johannesburg. ** Affects: tzdata (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Addition of Cape Town https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/631188 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 614076] [NEW] camE upload fail using passive ftp

[Bug 534225] Re: [lucid] setup_http_proxy_env constructs no_proxy incorrectly
Also got the problem here. I thought it to be Bug #432631, but this description fits better. export no_proxy=$(echo $no_proxy | sed 's/,$//') Does help to alleviate the problem, but does not fix it. Thats why I think both this bug and #432631 is the culprits in breaking apt through a proxy in 10.04. We on a university campus, behind a proxy server, really want this bug to be fixed.
