[Bug 1970618] Re: rednotebook segfault in Wayland (Ubuntu 22.04)

2022-04-28 Thread Jendrik Seipp
Thanks! This is likely a bug in GTK or Wayland. Google finds many of
these for the query "gtk crash wayland", e.g.,
https://github.com/transmission/transmission/issues/2572. So you could
report the problem at their trackers, if you like.

Is this the complete terminal output? The falsh/pepper error you see

[Bug 1065269] [NEW] Close update-manager automatically after updates have been applied

2012-10-10 Thread Jendrik Seipp
Public bug reported:

In my opinion it would be a usability improvement if the update manager
would close automatically after updates have been installed. After a
successful update there is no useful information in the window, but the
user has to navigate back to the application and has to manually close
it. Instead, the update manager should only stay open if errors occur
during installation that the user has to be informed about.

Previously there was a Close when finished checkbox in the update-
dialog. Defaulting to closing the window is a better solution than
bringing the checkbox back, in my opinion.

are you facing the issue with 12.04 where the bug is marked as fixed? or

[Bug 846878] Re: empty space between time applet and nm-applet

2012-03-20 Thread Jendrik Seipp
On Precise I installed xfce4-power-manager - 1.0.10-5ubuntu2 and
restarted, but the empty space is still there. When I remove the
indicator-application applet the space is gone, but when I add it back
the space returns (after a hibernate).

[Bug 919195] [NEW] Special chars in UTF-8 are only rendered correctly if document ends with .xhtml

2012-01-20 Thread Jendrik Seipp
Public bug reported:

The following UTF-8 document is rendered correctly in Firefox 9.0.1
safe-mode if the filename ends with .xhtml, but not if it ends with
.html:

?xml version=1.0 encoding=UTF-8 ?

html xmlns=http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml;

Chromium 15 renders both versions correctly, i.e. special chars are
correctly displayed.

Incorrect: Les garçons sont à l'école.

[Bug 854607] Re: [window management] alt+f10 doesn't unmaximize windows

2012-01-10 Thread Jendrik Seipp
In my opinion this confusion could be easily fixed if the default
Alt-F10 behaviour was restored: Pressing Alt-F10 maximizes unmaximized
windows and unmaximizes maximized windows.

This can be done manually in the keyboard shortcuts editor (Toggle
maximize-state or similar), but I think you should consider making this
the default for new installations.

[Bug 890717] [NEW] Icons in panel float to the left

2011-11-15 Thread Jendrik Seipp
Public bug reported:

When I log into lubuntu the icons in the notification area are at their
correct positions, i.e. at the right, next to the time and logout
buttons. Over time the icons float to the left however, making the space
for the application buttons very small.

The appended pictures explain it best.

Everytime I reconnect to the WLAN there's some shifting in the panel, so
my guess would be that NetworkManager might be the culprit.

I chose to just hard code the GTK+ STOCK_* names instead of looping
over them. The patch is in trunk. If you want, you can try it out
(https://code.launchpad.net/~jendrikseipp/rednotebook/trunk).

If you want to, you can send the bug upstream to Aurelio.

I don't know when I will be ready to make a release. It might take a
while ;)

Thanks, Jendrik

Thanks for looking into that Jonathan. I don't know whether it wouldn't
be better to just explicitly call e.g. gtk.STOCK_ITALIC etc. directly
instead of that lazy string concatenating...

Do you have an error message when doing a Category search from the cloud

[Bug 555425] Re: Rednotebook does not work with Turkish locale

2010-07-10 Thread Jendrik Seipp
Thanks. The error log shows that of course all external libs and modules
cannot be used correctly with tr_TR.UTF-8 either. Do you really think
this can/should be fixed in RedNotebook? I think it would make the code
less readable, and many modules would have to be checked...

In one thread
(http://mail.python.org/pipermail/python-bugs-list/2005-October/030816.html) I
read:
I'm not sure what to say to this. My only advice is to *not* set the global
locale setting to TR_tr, but only do this when it comes to actually processsing
text in an application.

Do you think setting LC to C when it is tr_TR could be a (really hacky)
workaround?
