[Bug 2062058] Re: Add a UFW firewall config to support QUIC
Thanks Mitchell, Well, I'm using 1.25 ubuntu package directly from the nginx repo, and this patch works just fine with that – it's only a simple addition to a UFW config file, not complicated. You probably know this, but nginx's versioning system is slightly weird: even numbers (like 1.24) are "stable"; odd numbers (1.25) are "mainline" (considered somewhat experimental). So when 1.25 is considered stable, it will be released as 1.26, and mainline will move to 1.27. I don't know when this is likely to happen, but I'm assuming not in time for noble next week, so "whenever" will have to do! Thanks for tagging it appropriately; I'm not used to the workflow on here. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2062058 Title: Add a UFW firewall config to support QUIC To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nginx/+bug/2062058/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 2062058] [NEW] Add a UFW firewall config to support QUIC
Public bug reported: New feature, not a bug nginx 1.25 adds support for QUIC + HTTP/3, which is typically deployed over UDP port 443. This option is not included in the provided UFW applications, so this PR adds it. Note that it is not done as a standalone app (i.e. with only QUIC) because it's usually combined with regular HTTPS on TCP port 443 along with an Alt-Svc header to inform clients of its presence. This is a fairly recent addition to nginx (added to mainline a year ago), not applicable to older distros, so this may be better merged into whichever of your future release branches would be more appropriate. [Bug 1909863] [NEW] Lotus Approach loses information while having open several entries
Public bug reported: I am not sure, whether this is a problem from Ubuntu 20.04 LTS or the SAMBA-package. I experienced the following misbehaviour after installing v 20.04 LTS (not having this in 16.04 LTS nor 18.04 LTS): I am using the Desktop version of Ubuntu. I installed the SAMBA-package. I am using Lotus Approach v 98 (I know, very old, but still working). Approach- files are all stored on the Ubuntu/Samba-Standalone Server in a dedicated share. Until 20.04 LTS, several users could have open entries in their frontend in the same dbase-file (running the program on each PC) and nothing worse happened, when another user closed the entry or opened an new one. Now, with the 20.04 Relase, I suddenly experience, that open entries disappear. I cross-checked with 16.04 LTS and 18.04 LTS and this does not happen there. [Bug 1906770] Re: Kernel 5.4.0-56 Wi-Fi does not connect
I tried two other Wi-Fi adapters with 5.4.0-58. Both are made by TPLINK but use different chipsets: Realtek RTL8192EU and Atheros AR9271. Both were able to connect successfully to a 2.4GHz 802.11n network. When I tried the Netgear A6210 adapter (Mediatek MT7612U chipset) again, it would not complete a connection as I described earlier. Since the default connection with this adapter is a 5GHz 802.11ac network, I tried switching to the 2.4GHz 802.11n network to which two TPLINK adapters successfully connected. That froze the desktop, requiring a restart. A second attempt after restart also froze the desktop. Reverting to 5.4.0-54 with the Netgear adapter successfully connected to the 5GHz 802.11ac network. This behavior suggests that the problem is with the kernel driver for the Mediatek MT7612U chipset, and possibly others per J.B. [Bug 1901926] Re: [HDA-Intel - HDA Intel PCH, playback] No sound at all from headphones
@hui.wang Thanks for looking into it and explaining how it works. What you describe is compatible with what I'm seeing, but I don't think I misclicked on that dialog that many times :-) I will test it again soon though. Is there any possibility that the dialog has some kind of issue where it can't apply the user selection or that its default option has changed when the dialog doesn't pop up or something else goes wrong? It's extremely unlikely that I misclicked "Mic" everytime (I may have clicked on it once or twice just to experiment a little). Do you know if there's some command or tool that will show that popup again allowing me to confirm/fix my selection after plugging it in and getting no sound? That would be easier to test than unplugging the headphones over and over. If there's a command-line tool that does the same thing and prints out better diagnostics, that would be helpful to understand what's going on. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1901926 Title: [HDA-Intel - HDA Intel PCH, playback] No sound at all from headphones To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1901926/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1901926] Re: [HDA-Intel - HDA Intel PCH, playback] No sound at all from headphones
OK, I'm attaching the logs since I could reproduce the bug again. When upgrading from alsa-utils 1.2.2-1ubuntu1 to alsa-utils 1.2.2-1ubuntu2 with speakers plugged in the 3.5mm jack, I could clearly hear a "thump" sound when the 3.5mm jack stopped working. Neither a reboot or a cold boot solved it. What's weird is that I couldn't reproduce that same thing earlier today, doing basically the same steps. [Bug 1901926] Re: [HDA-Intel - HDA Intel PCH, playback] No sound at all from headphones
While generating the logs I found out that maybe it's not alsa-utils version. It could also be a combination of the following: - Booting up with earphones plugged in makes the sound come out from the internal speakers (and not the earphones). - Changing the sound output device in the settings app to the earphones doesn't work (they remain silent - I tested using the test window) - Unplugging the earphones and plugging them back in works, but only if the settings app is closed. In all cases a window pops up asking what kind of device I plugged in (phones, phones+mic, mic), but the end result differs. - Audacity seems to reset _something_ when it starts up so whatever state the system was in before launching Audacity might need to be set up again (e.g. unplugging and plugging my earphones yet again). - There was another update in the meantime including libasound2, libasound2-data, systemd, libudev1, etc. so that could be related too. Of course I performed most tests using the settings app, that would explain why I couldn't get any sound on my earphones by normal means. I will upload my logs when I have some kind of consistent and reproducible state (unless you want me to send them anyway).

[Bug 1875299] Re: Apache's mod_remoteip: IP address spoofing via X-Forwarded-For when mod_rewrite rule is triggered
After configuring nginx and apache, the file index.php has to be placed in the document root directory (/var/www/html). This PHP file outputs the value of the variable $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] which should always carry the client's real IP address and should always contain trustworthy values when being processed by a webserver. In order to keep this simple, the following IPv4 addresses will be used: Server IP: 192.168.1.1 Client IP: 192.168.2.2 Now our client wants to access our site by using the following command: curl http://192.168.1.1/index.php Output: 192.168.2.2 (As expected, the real IP address of the requesting client) Let's assume the client accesses a SEO friendly URL and should be internally redirected to the file index.php. To test this, the following curl command can be used: curl http://192.168.1.1/seo-friendly-url/ Output: 192.168.2.2 (As expected) So far so good. Let's assume our client provides the header X-Forwarded- For with an arbitrary IP address: curl http://192.168.1.1/seo-friendly-url/ -H "X-Forwarded-For: 1.1.1.1" Output: 1.1.1.1 (Unexpected; should contain the real IP address instead of the Header value) I hope the supplied configuration files and this short explanation can be of help. [Bug 1875299] Re: Apache's mod_remoteip: IP address spoofing via X-Forwarded-For when mod_rewrite rule is triggered
Hello Robie. I originally reported this issue to Andrey. I will attempt to provide some additional information for reproducing this bug. As already stated by Andrey, this issue affects apache versions prior to 2.4.24 and therefore distributions like ubuntu 16.04 and debian 8 seem to be vulnerable.
