[Bug 876713] Re: Soap bind always tries IPV6_V6ONLY on bind and fails with Protocol not available
Since 14.04 is an LTS release I guess it would make sense to fix this. A debdiff is attached. In addition to a number of IPv6 fixes it also fixes an issue with the default include paths that has been fixed in later ubuntu versions. (With this update ubuntu 14.04 has rhe same patches as EPEL 7 that uses the same upstream version.) The same test as before (see comment #13 and comment #14) can be used to verify the fix also for trusty. ** Patch added: gsoap_2.8.16-2ubuntu1.debdiff https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gsoap/+bug/876713/+attachment/4420005/+files/gsoap_2.8.16-2ubuntu1.debdiff -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/876713 Title: Soap bind always tries IPV6_V6ONLY on bind and fails with Protocol not available To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gsoap/+bug/876713/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 876713] Re: Soap bind always tries IPV6_V6ONLY on bind and fails with Protocol not available
Thank you for your comment. You are right, the bug was fixed upstream but remerged later due to a change to the meaning of the --enable-ipv6 flag in configure script. A fix has been applied to release 2.8.16-3. This version is now in 14.10 (utopic). This issue was already reported upstream as http://sourceforge.net/p/gsoap2/bugs/959/. [Bug 1264358] Re: cgsi-gsoap: Libraries are underlinked, missing -lgsoap
That the cgsi-gsoap libraries are not linked to the gsoap libraries and leave the gsoap symbols undefined is a deliberate design choice by the upstream developers. The reason is that it is not known at the compile time of the cgsi-gsoap libraries which of the gsoap libraries (-lgsoap, -lgsoapck or -lgsoapssl) that will be used to resolve those symbols in the application that uses the libraries. By leaving the symbols undefined, the choice of gsoap library is postponed until the compile time of the application, when it is known. The reason for the build failure of gfal2 is not due to underlinking of cgsi-gsoap. The problem is that the build is attempted using inconsistent dependencies with some of them built against libgsoap3 and others against libgsoap4. According to the log, both versions are installed to satisfy the build dependencies: Setting up libgsoap3:i386 (2.8.12-2) ... Setting up libgsoap4:i386 (2.8.16-2) ... The binnmus for the libgoap3 → libgsoap4 transition must be done in the proper dependency order in ubuntu the same way it was done in debian. With a consistent set of dependencies all linked to the same gsoap version the gfal2 build will succeed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1264358 Title: cgsi-gsoap: Libraries are underlinked, missing -lgsoap To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cgsi-gsoap/+bug/1264358/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1048787] [NEW] slapd gives assertions for valid configuration
Public bug reported: The slapd version in Ubuntu precise (2.4.28-1.1ubuntu4.1) suffers from the same issue that was reported in debian BTS for the debian version 2.4.28-1.1. When configuring the shell backend in slapd.conf the syntax is (see man slapd-shell): add pathname argument... bind pathname argument... compare pathname argument... and so on. That is the path to the script followed by its arguments. This has worked fine in the past. However, the current version 2.4.28-1.1 of the slapd server refuses to start if any arguments are given after the path name in the configuration file, with the following assertion: slapd: ../../../../servers/slapd/config.c:198: config_check_vals: Assertion `c-argc == 2' failed. For the configuration of the shell backend the assertion condition means that it is not possible to pass arguments to the script in the slapd.conf. The man pages documents that this should still be possible, and it has been working with earlier versions. ** Affects: openldap (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openldap in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1048787 Title: slapd gives assertions for valid configuration To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openldap/+bug/1048787/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1027324] Re: CVE-2012-3292
The backward incompatibility consists in that plugins to the gridftp server compiled against an earlier version don't work with the 6.5-1 version in precise. The backward incompatibility was introduced with the release of version 6.5-1 and has since been fixed. First by applying a patch (debian release 6.5-6), and later in upstream which allowed the patch to be dropped (6.10-1). So the gridftp server version in ubuntus after precise can use plugins compiled against gridftp server versions before precise. It is just the version in precise that is not compatible with neither earlier nor later versions. So fixing the backward incompatibility in pricise also means fixing forward compatibility. The fix for the backward incompatibliity was tested by developpers of gridftp server plugins and these developers were also very active in both providoing input to how it should be fixed and in providing confirmation that the applied fix was working. Admittedly this work was mostly done on Scientific Linux 5 (using the EPEL version of the gridftp server) and not with the Debian version, because SL is these developers' main development platform, and alse the most common deployment plotform for these plugins. The EPEL and Debian version of the globus packages are however very simimilar. The process of this testing is documented in https://ggus.eu/tech/ticket_show.php?ticket=79541 There is not yet any package in Debian/Ubuntu that installs any plugins to the gridftp server. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1027324 Title: CVE-2012-3292 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/globus-gridftp-server/+bug/1027324/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

The vdt-globus-common package that is reported to clash with globus- common-progs is a third party package. The VDT globus packages contains the same software as the globus packages in Debisn/Ubuntu. That they clash is to be expected, but is not a packaging problem with the globus packages in Debian/Ubuntu. As a user you should decide whether you want to use the packages in Debian/Ubuntu or the ones in the VDT third party distribution. You should take all globus packages from the same repository. The package contains all files installed by make install in upstream's build script (except for a few that were removed for license reasons). Upstream's build script does not install the stdsoap2.c and stdsoap2.cpp source files. The package includes the gsoap library compiled from the source for both C and C++, each in three different flavours. Make sure to use the compiler flags from pkg-config for the flavour of the library you use when compiling code that includes stdsoap2.h header. This way you use the same compiler options as the library you link to, even though they all use the same header file. Not using the right flags will cause problems. $ pkg-config --cflags gsoap -DWITH_IPV6 -DWITH_DOM $ pkg-config --cflags gsoapck -DWITH_IPV6 -DWITH_COOKIES -DWITH_DOM $ pkg-config --cflags gsoapssl -DWITH_IPV6 -DWITH_OPENSSL -DWITH_DOM -DWITH_COOKIES -DWITH_GZIP -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/902307 Title: stdsoap2.cpp missing? Hi! This bug is only fixed in precise. It is not fixed in oneiric which is the release the bug was reported against. I am unable to reopen the bug (i.e change the state to something else than Fix Released) even though I am the one assigned to the bug. Searching the launchpad documentation, the original bug reporter should be able to reopen it - so Zaki, could you try. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/876713 Title: Soap bind always tries IPV6_V6ONLY on bind and fails with Protocol not available To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gsoap/+bug/876713/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Gsoap 2.8.3 will automatically enable the option to call setsockopt if you enable IPv6 support, and there is no option to disable this feature. [Bug 703897] Re: globus openssl trouble: please upgrade to gt5.0.2
If I use the legacy pre-rfc proxy format I see the problem on both maverick and natty. Recompiling the globus-gsiapi-gsi source package without any changes, will create a working library. THe code in the source package is up to date w.r.t. support for openssl = 0.9.8m. However, looking at the buildlogs of the build of globus-gssapi-gsi 7.5-2 that is available in maverick and natty it can be seen that libssl-dev_0.9.8k-7ubuntu8_amd64.deb was installed during the build. That is, the package was built before openssl was updated to version 0.9.8o that is the version in maverick and natty. Rebuilding the package without changes using the libssl-dev version that is in the release will solve the problem, since the compilation will then include source lines that are inside an #if (OPENSSL_VERSION_NUMBER = 0x009080dfL) preprocessor conditional. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/703897 Title: globus openssl trouble: please upgrade to gt5.0.2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/globus-gssapi-gsi/+bug/703897/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 703897] Re: globus openssl trouble: please upgrade to gt5.0.2
I have been trying to investigate the reported issue and I can't figure out for which Ubuntu releases the bug is relevant. For Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (lucid) the version of globus-gssapi-gsi is 5.9-4. Version 5.9 is the version found in Globus Toolkit 4.2.1. This is an old version that doesn't have the fix for openssl 0.9.8m or later, but lucid is using openssl 0.9.8k so using this of globus-gssapi.-gsi with the version of openssl on lucid is OK. For Ubuntu 10.10 (maverick) and 11.04 (natty) the version of globus- gssapi-gsi is 7.5-2. Version 7.5 is the version found in Globus Toolkit 5.0.1 and 5.0.2. The code in the source package is extracted from 5.0.1 but updating to the code from 5.0.2 is pointless since it is the same version. When there is a new Globus Toolkit release only those packages that actually changed from the previous release is updated. Version 5.2 of globus-gssapi-gsi contains CVS revision 1.55.2.5 of the file globus_i_gsi_gss_utils.c. The change mentioned in the bug report was introduced in the 5.0 branch in CVS revision 1.55.2.2 and is therefore already part of the version of globus-gssapi-gsi that is in maverick and natty. So the bug report doesn't seem to relevant for these either. For Ubuntu 11.11 (oneiric) the version is even newer, 7.8, found in Globus Toolkit 5.0.4. I also don't think that the error message mentioned in the report: Can't get the local trusted CA certificate: Cannot find trusted CA certificate with hash cab33b4a in /etc/grid-security/certificates/ is relevant for this issue. If the openssl compatibility was a problem you would get some internal openssl error. This seems to be just a missing CA cert in your installation. ** Changed in: globus-gssapi-gsi (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/703897 Title: globus openssl trouble: please upgrade to gt5.0.2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/globus-gssapi-gsi/+bug/703897/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 663982] Re: For many Globus packages only debug symbols available but no binaries
Your search is a bit broken. You search for ^globus - however, most globus packages are library packages and therefore start with libglobus rather than globus as mandated by the packaging policy. As an example, the globus-ftp-client source package (since you filed the bug for this package) provides the following binary packages: globus-ftp-client-dbg libglobus-ftp-client-dev libglobus-ftp-client-doc libglobus-ftp-client2 And similarly for the other packages is your list. ** Changed in: globus-ftp-client (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid ** Changed in: globus-ftp-client (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Mattias Ellert (mattias-ellert-fysast) -- For many Globus packages only debug symbols available but no binaries https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/663982 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
