Not anymore. Something to do with the toolkit UI and me using mate-desktop and something in the toolkit UI settings I think was causing the issue. Figured out cause. Auto updates caused /boot to run out of space as auto updates do not remove old kernels and the update process does not check to see if there is enough space free before trying to install a newer kernel.
