[Bug 1060167] Re: indicator doesn't always work properly after suspend

2016-10-04 Thread Philippe Escarbassière
I get the problem on two laptops (16.04 up to date), after a suspend/resume
cycle, wifi network list disappears from nm-applet. If I kill and restart
nm-applet, wifi network list is displayed again.
On a third laptop, I have to restart network-manager service daemon.

[Bug 664669] [NEW] Nautilus crashes when sharing a folder

2010-10-21 Thread Philippe Escarbassière
Public bug reported:

Nautilus disappear (all the browsing windows and desktop icons) when
sharing a folder with modification permission (after the right SMB
packages have been installed)

Ubuntu: 10.10
Nautilus: 1:2.32.0-0ubuntu1

It is always reproducible on my machine. To do so :
- Create a folder on the desktop for example
- Right click on the folder / Properties / Share tab
- Enter a share name and check the option to enable modification permission (my
system is in french, I don't know how the option is named in english)
- Click on the 'Modify Share' button, and nautilus crashes.

However, the share is created successfully at this point, but every new
modification regarding modification permission will crash nautilus
again.

I don't know which informations I can attach to the bug, but I would be
glad to do so if someone points me what to do.

[Bug 532633] Re: [light-theme] please revert the order of the window controls back to menu:minimize, maximize, close

2010-03-19 Thread Philippe Escarbassière
@Mark

Scrollbars are still very useful even with a mousewheel, when navigating
in a large document for example by either scrolling the bar or middle
clicking, please don't kill them at least *before* something as useful
is implemented :)

Furthermore, a lot of users (at least around me) don't even know how to
use touch scrolling (or hate it because it's 'hard' to use).

Regarding the number of duplicates and comments, I don't believe it's a
vocal minority. And regarding all the opposition, maybe a kind of survey
would be nice to be sure the feature is benefic to Ubuntu users or not.

At least I find it's premature to enable this behaviour for Jaunty, the
few feedback is negative and no positive feedback has been reported as
far as I know...

Re: [Bug 332945] Re: [Jaunty] Update Notifier icon would provide useful status information

2009-04-20 Thread Philippe Escarbassière
@Jonathan

I didn't speak about developers. I'm a developer myself and I try not to
bash other developers and respect their work. But I listen to users
feedback too.

In this case, even if 221 votes are not a proof (plus other forum posts
and wiki comments), it's clearly an indication this new behavior is not
welcome to everybody. That's why I find this change premature. And some
other constructive comments posted here are very good argument against
it too.

Now, since it's too late to revert a default gconf value, let's see how
this feature/bug will be accepted by Ubuntu community and, if it's
clearly rejected, let's hope next bug reports like this one will be
taken more seriously.

[Bug 332945] Re: [Jaunty] Removal of Update Notifier is WRONG

2009-03-26 Thread Philippe Escarbassière
I know it's just a me too comment, but this issue is serious enough so
I add it.

Most people here are right, as a simple user, the new mechanism is a
pain and a big regression. I think this effort is a waste of time and
resources.

Open a window periodically is simply bad and somewhat aggressive.
Furthermore, update are checked less often which lead to security
problems compared to previous behavior!

[Bug 53567] Re: Cannot erase CD-RW with edgy

2006-07-22 Thread Philippe Escarbassière
It does not work, and it returns 'cdrecord: Operation not permitted.
Cannot send SCSI cmd via ioctl'. I've attached the full reponse and
errors of the command...

However, sudo cdrecord blank=fast works.

[Bug 53567] Cannot erase CD-RW with edgy

2006-07-20 Thread Philippe Escarbassière
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus-cd-burner

Neither nautilus nor gnomebaker can erase or write a CD-RW (gnomebaker
error is 'cdrecord: Operation not permitted. Cannot send SCSI cmd via
ioctl')

However, gksudoing nautilus make it able to erase and write CR-RW.

Kernel 2.6.17-5-686
Nautilus 2.15.4

** Affects: nautilus-cd-burner (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Untriaged
 Status: Unconfirmed
