[Bug 1568604] Re: Mouse cursor lost when unlocking with Intel graphics

2016-05-31 Thread Sheldon Hearn
The same work-around resolves another mouse pointer issue in a
VirtualBox guest (using virtualbox-guest-dkms and virtualbox-guest-x11),
where the mouse point is present, but is offset from where clicks are
registered.

It's most obvious in a terminal window, where the click offset is -1,-1
character from the mouse pointer.

[Bug 95925] Re: debsecan should be either adjusted (for ubuntu) or removed

2015-11-23 Thread Sheldon Hearn
It's great to aspire to fixing the package. When it's fixed, it can
return to the archive. In the meantime, it doesn't belong in the
archive. It's useless at best, dangerous at worst.

[Bug 480617] [NEW] dpkg-reconfigure samba fails with sed error

[Bug 478551] [NEW] Unresolvable host breaks clusterssh

2009-11-08 Thread Sheldon Hearn
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: clusterssh

When an unresolvable hostname is given in a list of hostnames,
clusterssh aborts, leaving behind terminal windows for the hosts opened
before the hostname was found to be unresolvable. Those terminal windows
are unusable and must be closed individually.

The ChangeLog for upstream version 3.27 claims that this bug is fixed in
that version:

* Fix bug where unresolvable host stopped program running
  - thanks to Sami Kerola

This is a regression since Jaunty, so it's probably worth fixing.

apparently doesn't work either (as originally reported).

The same XML file, image and command-line invocation work on Ubuntu 9.04
x86, which is what we rolled back to, pretty much immediately. So if it
works for you, assume we got something wrong and close the bug. But it's
probably worth someone confirming that 9.10 supports libvirt+KVM. :-)

[Bug 265044] Re: evolution hangs

2009-02-03 Thread Sheldon Hearn
Sorry, I forgot to mention the work-around on Ubuntu 8.10:

killall evolution \
evolution-alarm-notify \
evolution-data-server-2.24 \
evolution-exchange-storage

Herafter, evolution can be started again.

[Bug 275288] Re: search options in resolv.conf are separated by \032 instead of a blank

2009-02-01 Thread Sheldon Hearn
Please disregard my findings above. Although that dhclient.conf syntax
worked for me under Debian Sid, it's not the documented syntax for
domain-list values as per dhcp-options(5) on Ubuntu.

With the following, I get the same behaviour as described by the
original poster:

prepend domain-search dom1.com dom2.com dom3.com dom4.com;

Ciao,
Sheldon.

[Bug 275288] Re: search options in resolv.conf are separated by \032 instead of a blank

2009-01-31 Thread Sheldon Hearn
Interesting. I just get the first search value from my DHCP prepend
list, rather than all of them separated with the wrong character.

What do you have in your dhclient.conf? I have:

prepend domain-search dom1.com, dom2.com, dom3.com, dom4.com;
request subnet-mask, broadcast-address, time-offset, routers,
domain-name, domain-name-servers, domain-search, host-name,
netbios-name-servers, netbios-scope, interface-mtu;

[Bug 306234] Re: Tracker don't index evolution email in 64bit Ubuntu intrepid ibex 8.10

2009-01-29 Thread Sheldon Hearn
On Ubuntu 8.10 i386, my Evolution isn't crashing at all, but tracker
also isn't indexing my email messages.

I have two imap accounts configured in Evolution. Tracker has finished
indexing, and although it picks up various other kinds of object, it
reports 0 emails indexed.

So I think the crash and the 64bit-ness are red herrings as far as the
title of the bug is concerned.
