[Bug 1419836] Re: LibreOffice 4.4 (PPA): Extension can't be installed: Message: com.sun.star.uno.RuntimeException) unknown error!

2015-02-18 Thread cpina
Hi - I've tested and it works as expected (Ubuntu 15.05 and
libreoffice-1:4.4.0-1ubuntu2~vivid1 fresh PPA). Out of interest: do you
have any plans to fix this problem for users who use
https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/ubuntu/libreoffice-4-4
repostiory and Ubuntu 14.10?

Regards,

[Bug 1419836] [NEW] LibreOffice 4.4 (PPA): Extension can't be installed: Message: com.sun.star.uno.RuntimeException) unknown error!

2015-02-09 Thread cpina
Public bug reported:

Hello,

Both Mendeley and Zotero LibreOffice plugins are having problems with
LibreOffice 4.4:
Mendeley:
http://support.mendeley.com/customer/portal/questions/11325906-mendeley-plugin-not-working-in-libreoffice-4-4-

Zotero, for example:
https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/46297/
(there is a comment saying solved but I think that the person reverted to 4.3
or used upstream)

(I've seen some other plugin with the same error message in LibreOffice
4.4, not sure if it was the PPA one or not)

Disclaimer: I work for Mendeley, but both plugins are very similar
(Mendeley one is a fork from Zotero one in 2008 before i joined and they
use the same technologies and approach: Python-uno for communication and
then LibreOffice Basic to update the plugin).

The problem is that, if using LibreOffice 4.4 from the PPA and doing this:
unopkg add -v Mendeley-1.13.3.oxt
it shows an error such as:
(com.sun.star.uno.RuntimeException) { { Message = unknown error!, Context =
(com.sun.star.uno.XInterface) @0 } }

Then it gets incorrectly installed, I just do:
rm -rf .config/libreoffice # to delete the broken installation
soffice  # to re-create .config/libreoffice
unopkg add -v Mendeley-1.13.3.oxt # to try again if you wish

The Mendeley plugin is available here
https://www.dropbox.com/s/83isrvr82p2qsvh/Mendeley-1.13.3.oxt?dl=0
(or download and install Mendeley from
http://www.mendeley.com/download-mendeley-desktop/ , then it's available in
/opt/mendeleydesktop/share/mendeleydesktop/openOfficePlugin/Mendeley-1.13.3.oxt
-we don't support OpenOffice but we still need to change the name of the
directory, apologies).
Or attached in this bug report.

Anyway, using LibreOffice 4.4 from libreoffice.org works correctly, but
using the ppa is not working correctly.

We use the Python pyuno technology that maybe is broken there for some
reason?

[Bug 1419836] Re: LibreOffice 4.4 (PPA): Extension can't be installed: Message: com.sun.star.uno.RuntimeException) unknown error!

2015-02-09 Thread cpina
Hi - Find attached Mendeley 1.12.3 file, I can reproduce the exact
problem with it as well.

We haven't changed anything relevant to the plugin in 1.12 - 1.13 (just
a minor VBA code change). I've found that when intalling and re-
installing sometimes the plugin gets correctly installed but I don't
have steps to reproduce. My guess is that Juan José Magaña Redondo might
have had this.

The Mendeley openoffice plugin code is available here:
https://github.com/Mendeley/openoffice-plugin

I've attached the Mendeley-1.12.3.oxt extension to make it easier to
test in case that you want to try.

[Bug 1222823] Re: Libreoffice 'exceptions.ImportError object has no attribute 'with_traceback'

2013-09-10 Thread cpina
Hello,

I reported it here because I asked the Libreoffice PPA maintainers and
they referred to me to do it here. They also pointed me out to:

https://lists.launchpad.net/libreoffice/msg00072.html

I used the tag as mentioned.

If I should use another place let me know. I tried to use:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/~libreoffice but I can't open a ticket there
(no link or button to open tickets). Hence I asked them and they said to
me to do it here.

I changed the status again to New - feel free to change back to whatever
makes sense for your process.

Regards,

Carles

[Bug 1222823] [NEW] Libreoffice 'exceptions.ImportError object has no attribute 'with_traceback'

2013-09-09 Thread cpina
Public bug reported:

This happens here in an Ubuntu 12.04 32 bit. It may happen to other
versions but I haven't tried yet.

When using Libreoffice 1:4.1.1-0ubuntu1~precise1 (Help - About LibreOffice
shows Version: 4.1.1.2, Build ID: 410m0(Build:2) installed using the PPA
libreoffice-4.1: when adding the attached extension it shows an error message
such as:
-
type 'exceptions.AttributeError': 'exceptions.ImportError' object has no
attribute 'with_traceback', traceback follows
  /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/uno.py:334 in function _uno_import() [%s
(or '%s.%s' is unknown) % (py_import_exc, name, x)]
  /usr/lib/python2.7/copy.py:60 in function module() [from org.python.core
import PyStringMap]

  /usr/lib/python2.7/decimal.py:139 in function module() [import copy as
_copy]
  /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/uno.py:268 in function _uno_import() [return

  /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/simplejson/__init__.py:109 in function

  /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/uno.py:268 in function _uno_import() [return

/home/carles/.config/libreoffice/4/user/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/lumd3lp.tmp_/Mendeley-1.10-dev3.oxt/Scripts/MendeleyDesktopAPI.py:17
 in function module() [try: import simplejson as json]
  /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/pythonloader.py:103 in function
getModuleFromUrl() [exec(codeobject, mod.__dict__)]
  /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/pythonloader.py:149 in function
writeRegistryInfo() [mod = self.getModuleFromUrl( locationUrl )]
-

Using Libreoffice 4.1 from libreoffice.org: works correctly.

Editing the extension with this change:
-except ImportError: import json
+except: import json

(it appears twice)

Then it works correctly - not sure why.

Let me know if you need some more information.

Thank you,

[Bug 1212216] [NEW] python-loader:type 'exceptions.ImportError':No module named pythonloader

2013-08-14 Thread cpina
Public bug reported:

Summary:
System version: Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS, Release 12.04
Package: libreoffice . Version:  1:4.1.0-0ubuntu1-precise1~ppa1
Expected to happen: Mendeley Desktop plugin working like in previous
Libreoffice or Libreoffice from mainstream.
What happened: it fails with a python-loader error. Possible workaround: export
PYTHONPATH=/usr/lib/libreoffice/program/

Longer description and workaround:
When trying to use Mendeley Desktop Libreoffice extension (and, I see on the
Internet, other extensions) it doesn't work. Appears:

BASIC runtime error.
An exception ocurred
Type: com.sun.star.uno.RuntimeException
Message: python-loader:type 'exceptions.ImportError': No module named
pythonloader, traceback follows
no traceback available
.

This can be reproduced using libreoffice version
1:4.1.0-0ubuntu1-precise1~ppa1

It's working correctly using Libreoffice from www.libreoffice.org.

A possible workaround is to launch Libreoffice this way:
export PYTHONPATH=/usr/lib/libreoffice/program/ ; libreoffice
(note that pythonloader.py is in that directory)

See a confirmation here:
https://github.com/Mendeley/openoffice-plugin/issues/11

So it fails libreoffice 4.1 PPA but not the upstream one, and there is a
workaround (too complicated for some users).

[Bug 1212216] Re: python-loader:type 'exceptions.ImportError':No module named pythonloader

2013-08-14 Thread cpina
Thanks Christopher. I was there ( https://bugs.launchpad.net/~libreoffice ) but
I couldn't see how to report bugs from their Bugs section (I see how to
search, not create new ones/report). Will follow up in another way with the ppa
team (I see that apt-cache show libreoffice shows another way to report bugs,
in a mailing list).
