[Bug 1947524] Re: Restore and maximize window laggy

2021-10-20 Thread mook765
I did run the suggested command, the data should be send succesfully.

One more observation I made:

When I have the thunderbird release-notes open in a second tab, then
restoring and maximizing the window buttons works just fine, but as soon
as I close this tab, the misbehaviour reappears.

Fresh installation of Ubuntustudio 21.10 (Plasma desktop) with
thunderbird 91.1.2 (deb version, not a snap).

screen is not updated correctly, it takes a few seconds and maybe never
finishes. However, when I open the application menu, the screen will be
instantly refreshed and the thunderbird window is drawn correctly then.

- Since I'm having this problem with thunderbird only, I don't think it's

The kernel version 5.8.0-38.43 is indeed marked as manually installed,
though I never installed a kernel manually, only installed new kernels
during apt full-upgrade. However, the problem is now solved. Thank you
so much for your time looking at this, have a great time!

Running sudo apt autoremove results in:

It worked properly in previous versions of apt, but since upgrade to apt
version 2.1.10ubuntu0.2 I seem to be unable to autoremove old kernels. I
expect the kernel version 5.8.0-38.43 to be removed with the autoremove
command.

[Bug 1905061] Re: [SRU] Media Playback menu is overpopulated

2020-11-26 Thread mook765
Thanks Erich, that's what I didn't know, evereyday something to learn. I had to
downgrade the package first with

sudo apt-get install ubuntustudio-menu=0.49

This indeed asked me to overwrite the modified file and I got the overpopulated
menu back.
Upgrading the package with

sudo apt-get install ubuntustudio-menu=0.50~20.10.1

solved the issue with the overpopulated menu. Just perfect.

By the way, I didn't like the subfolders in the "Games"-folder since there are
not many games installed and I'm not planning to do so. I wrote a games.menu
file which can be placed in
/etx/xdg/menus/applications-merged or in ~/.config/menus/applications-merged .
Here it is:

2020-11-25 Thread mook765
The package does not install the file
/etc/xdg/menus/applications-merged/studio.menu
My test was not complete, sorry. I had changed my file on 20/11, after
installing from proposed the modification date of the file was unchanged. So
removing the file and reinstalinng the package from proposed again does not
install the mentioned file. Please check this.

[Bug 1876336] Re: Whisker Menu renames its title after reboot

2020-05-01 Thread mook765
Workaround:
Add the line `button-title=New name` to ~/.config/xfce4/panel/whiskermenu-1.rc

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1795135 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1795135

Perfect, adding 'export GDK_CORE_DEVICE_EVENTS=1' to ~/.profile and logging in
again solved the problem.
Thank you so much for looking into this.

[Bug 1799255] Re: Panel state inconsistent at left and top edge of screen

2018-10-22 Thread mook765
[Bug 1715037](https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1715037) seems to be related.
At the moment, a horizontal panel at the lower edge is the only reliable
postition for me.
When I move the pointer to the left or right end of the panel though, the panel
loses focus, but that's not too bad.

[Bug 1799255] Re: Panel state inconsistent at left and top edge of screen

2018-10-22 Thread mook765
In Ubuntu Studio 18.10 NumixBlue is the default-theme.
Currently I use Arc-dark from official reopsitories.
It doesn't seem to matter which theme I use, I can reproduce the same behaviour
with all pre-installed themes.

[Bug 1799255] [NEW] Panel state inconsistent at left and top edge of screen

2018-10-22 Thread mook765
Public bug reported:

When I set the panel to "always hide" or "hide intelligently" the
following happens:

When I place a horizontal panel at the top of the screen and move the
pointer to the most top ofthe screen, the panel loses focus.

When I place the panel as desk-bar or vertical at the left edge of the
screen and move the pointer to the most left of the screen, the panel
loses focus.

I tried to play around with the opacity settings and one can see the
panel flickering while moving the pointer along the screen-edge if the
opacity is set to 100 for "enter" and 0 for "leave"

The effect is that the panel refuse to appear when I move the pointer to
fast to the screen-edge and I have to hit the few pixel wide stripe
exactly which one can see when the panel is hidden.

When I place the panel at the lower or right edge of the screen the
panel does not lose focus when I move the pointer to the corresponding
screen-edge, it works just beautiful.

This happens with a fresh install of Ubuntu Studio 18.10.
It doesn't appear to be hardware-related as the panel works nicely in Ubuntu
Studio 16.04 or 18.04 which I still have installed (Triple-Boot).

The installed version of xfce4-panel is 4.12.2-1ubuntu1

** Affects: xfce4-panel (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 1258654] Re: Linphone does not exit after window close

2017-10-29 Thread mook765
@vsepd You are right, I checked again. A right-click on the launcher-
icon and choosing "Quit" only removes the launcher-icon from the
launcher. The system monitor shows linphone still running. It works
flawless for me in xfce, but not in Unity, probably also not in Ubuntu
Gnome, have not tested in Gnome yet. In this case I have to consider it
as a bug too.

Just tested linphone in Ubuntu (Unity). Simply right-click linphone's
launcher-icon and choose "Quit". That's it.

2017-10-28 Thread mook765
Running linphone in Ubuntu Studio (xfce). When starting linphone an icon
appears in the notification area, right-click this icon and choose quit
is one way to quit linphone. I wouldn't consider the behaviour as a bug.
Skype on Windows has the same behaviour, cosing the Skype-window with
the close-button will not stop Skype. I think it's intended behaviour.
