I'll merge the xfwm4 package from Debian, so it'll be installable again

you both have different view on the problem ?

[Bug 139678] Re: i can not restrict acces to preferences in firefox with a password

2007-09-14 Thread servaas-xubuntu-user
dansguardian is content filtering that use a proxy on the same system
as the firefox browser

that means:
i can connect to the internet with direct connection setting - no content
filtering
or
trough the proxy with dansguardian setting - content filtering enabled

in firefox the preferences are freely accessible
proxy settings are in the firefox preferences so every member of my family can
disable the content filter by changing the setting from proxy to direct
connection

there is no option to restrict acces to the preferences by setting a
password

so my kids can surf porn read racist texts see violence etc.

in my opinion this is a security problem

[Bug 127827] (gutsy desktop i386 tribe-3) normal icons very big font size

2007-07-23 Thread servaas-xubuntu-user
Public bug reported:

when booting from the Xubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon) Tribe 3 PC (Intel x86)
desktop CD
while the icon size is normal the font size is very very large
on the the desktop, panels, menus, starters on the the desktop
resulting in unreadable gui
i think it is in the video driver package xserver-xorg-video-intel

because

i have currently installed xubuntu 7.04 (feisty fawn) final
the video driver package installed in it is xserver-xorg-video-i810
but when i try to to replace it with the xserver-xorg-video-intel
the same thing is happening normal icon size very large font size

so my conclusion is this:

1 the Xubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon) Tribe 3 PC (Intel x86) desktop CD
uses the wrong package for whatever reason

2 the xserver-xorg-video-intel package
contains a bug or an configuration mistake

tested on:

notebook hp compaq presario v5236ea with intel 945gm express video
chipset

hope this can help you
