kdesudo will soon replace kdesu for gutsy.
I'll fix almost all issues related to kdesu.
You can install it manually from universe at the moment.
Feedback would be nice

Yes, this was fixed in KDE 3.5.5:

Since the original bug has been fixed, I'm closing this bug.  
mexlinux: if you'd like to file a bug for the sudo time issue, check to make 
sure there are no duplicates and go ahead and file it.

I have just updated my Dapper to KDE 3.5.5 wich is announced to support sudo in 
kdesu.
Kde su does not hang anymore, but it asks for password everytime (it does not 
keep sudo time)
