Is this still an issue? [Bug 538512] Re: Preconfigure font rendering settings
Actually yes, it is. When you install a fresh Kubuntu system, go to systemsettings/appearance where the font settings are and logout and login again, it looks a lot worse. The default settings on a new system are RGB subpixel hinting and slight hinting (just like Ubuntu with GNOME, and it looks best) and this should be just set by default in the configuration. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kubuntu-default-settings in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/538512 Title: Preconfigure font rendering settings To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kubuntu-default-settings/+bug/538512/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 538512] Re: Preconfigure font rendering settings
We should do the same as Ubuntu and preconfigure for RGB subpixel hinting and slight hinting which looks best for most people and won't change after relogging to the system after visiting the configuration page. I agree. +1 I love Liberation Sans 9px and Droid Sans and I think can be a good choise. -- Preconfigure font rendering settings https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/538512 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
