[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 739976] [NEW] package fglrx 2:8.801-0ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: fglrx kernel module failed to build
Public bug reported: Well, I did a upgrade using the command line, from 10.10 version to this development version. But for some reason, I could not use yet the AMD/ATI video driver. I configure manually the X.org to use the VESA driver, because even using the ATI opensource driver, I got some instability. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 432814] Re: Touchpad: Action for middle and right click is reversed since jaunty
Lucid was almost a year ago. Shouldn't this be an open bug against Maverick (stable) or even Natty (impending LTS release)? Or have we blown those deadlines, and now we have to shoot for 11.10? This is still a daily frustration for me. Getting all three fingers to land at the same time for my second-most-used-click is nigh impossible. In modern releases, not even the old synclient hack works anymore. We're left out in the cold. I love Ubuntu, which is why it pains me to see a major UI bug that affects UX on a minute-to-minute basis take more than 1.5 years to resolve. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/432814 Title: Touchpad: Action for middle and right click is reversed since jaunty ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

it looks like it is related to XServer with no backfill functionality https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/xserver-no-backfill This PPA contains a variant of the xserver with background initialization disabled. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 432814] Re: Touchpad: Action for middle and right click is reversed since jaunty
It sounds like the hook script feature provides a framework for a fix, but not an actual fix for this bug. Has 1/2/3 behavior been restored? I guess I'm looking for a legitimate bugfix or a declaration from the Ubuntu maintainers that 1/3/2 (left/right/middle) is the new Ubuntu multitouch standard. If they pick 1/3/2 as the new standard, we can either start lobbying for change, lobbying the GNOME maintainers for a better mouse settings GUI, or build out a separate mouse behavior customization tool. How do I mark this bug as Needs Closure? =) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/432814 Title: Touchpad: Action for middle and right click is reversed since jaunty ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: transmission When I start transmission it freezes completely after few seconds. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 734615] Re: Transmission-gtk freezes on blocklist update
Yes freeze is permanent, I have left transmission running for long times and it hasn't recovered. I already did some tests without Nvidia before reporting this, but couldn't manage to get Nouveau work then. Apparently it wasn't enough to blacklist nvidia but had to also select right libGL with update-alternatives. And indeed, with Nouveau freeze is not happening. ** Changed in: transmission (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Invalid ** Package changed: transmission (Ubuntu) = nvidia-graphics-drivers (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid = New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/734615 Title: Transmission-gtk freezes on blocklist update ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Closing as fixed since the linux task is closed, and has been validated by several people. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg Please see https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/297335 for full information. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 727620] Re: [Radeon HD 5650 and 5470] Driver crash during recovery boot and in normal boot (Regression from 2.6.38-3 to -4)
I have a theory... Maybe there is a race condition between the intel and ati driver involved here? My notebook starts up in two seemingly random configurations, or three including the radeon crash: 1. X server is on VT8 - unable to unload radeon module because it is in use (by some framebuffer I guess). I am also unable to switch to consoles VT1-7. If I use vga_switcheroo to switch to integrated gpu in this mode then radeon crashes. 2. X server is on VT7 - I can unload the radeon module and use the consoles VT1-6. vga_switcheroo works and I can also use acpi calls to turn off the gpu. 3. The radeon driver crashes. Forcing reboot through RSEIUB. This makes it difficult to control the temperature since I cannot know if the radeon module is in use or not (i.e. I might or might not be able to use the vga_switcheroo, or unload the module and use a specific acpi call to shut of the gpu). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/727620 Title: [Radeon HD 5650 and 5470] Driver crash during recovery boot and in normal boot (Regression from 2.6.38-3 to -4) ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 560433] Re: [clarkdale] Xorg freeze
I'm also seeing the freeze and the errors posted by Marcello Romani. I have Intel DH57JG board with i5 650 processor. Nothing else on the board (using the integrated graphics). Using Ubuntu 10.10 and 2.6.35-28-generic. This issue progressed for me to the point where it would occur very frequently and even when only booted into BIOS. Intel suspected a board problem and replaced it but I'm still seeing the issue, though not as frequently with the new board. I've only had the replacement about a month so time will tell if the performance degrades again. I may also looking into trying a different processor. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/560433 Title: [clarkdale] Xorg freeze ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
