No. Not at all. Some of the dev team is friends with the Beam team, but 
there's no direct connection.


You might have seen the `beam.smp` process running when you run CouchDB. 
That's the Erlang VM:

Maybe the docker image download stats could be useful to get an idea. Also
Google trends for couchdb
