Re: Fake SMSC

2018-01-30 Thread spameden
Dear, Robin.

Spamming this list with the same questions without reading documentation
first and putting some effort into learning won't get you anywhere.

There are many examples regarding:
* fakesmsc (how to set it up)
* how to get high throughput with kannel and possible bottlenecks
* the problems you're facing were explained 1 times you need just
google and find all those answers yourself, put some effort into it
* there is a commercial carrier grade SMPP server (contact Stipe Tolj)

Nobody is going to make all the work for you, this list is intented to HELP
with specific problems, not some vague questions which were covered 100
times before.

Hello,

There is at least two solutions for you :

  - use the fake smsc feature in kannel (please read the
manual and well documented example)

  - use the new great opensource Ksmpp which include a
'simulate' smsc (AFAIK)

or use a test-drive installation of the commercial Kannel SMPP v5.0
server (smppbox) vSMSC product, which can act as true SMSC end-point.

Please let us know if you are interested and we can provide more
information.

How to test inbound messages with FAKE smsc

2014-12-13 Thread Juned Khan
Hello Everyone,

Since last few weeks I am testing with Kannel so far I am able to send
messages using fake smsc.

But now I want to test inbound messages as well, I've setup opensmppbox on
different machine as well and I am able to connect that from Kannel.

So how do I test incoming messages with FAKE smsc so I can get detailed
idea of everything. I've tried something from my side but something weird
thing is happening its continuously giving me this logs. I've attached
kannel.conf opensmppbox.conf and logs.txt file for this configuration.

Any suggestion and idea will be appreciated.

Yes, you can use fake smsc to test PPG. You can assign any available
port to
FAKE smsc, but that refers to the port listening for the fakesmsc
client,
not bearerbox. Fake SMSc needs the client, fakesmsc, connected to work.

 Yes, you can use fake smsc to test PPG. You can assign any available
 port to
 FAKE smsc, but that refers to the port listening for the fakesmsc
 client,
 not bearerbox. Fake SMSc needs the client, fakesmsc, connected to work.

Thank you for the reply. Is there a specific switch which can be used
when starting up fakesmsc to set the fakesmsc listening port (e.g.

Make sure your arguments to wget are properly encapsulated in quotes.

Your command shell is interpreting all those ''s as a command to run things as
background processes.

Hi,

I am wanting to load test my setup and wondering if there is any tools that
can act as a Fake SMSC that Bearorbox can connect to like a normal SMPP

EG:

I would like the fake smsc to reply with Delivery Reports just like a live

I have looked in the UG at the Fake SMS Center tool, that seems to only send
sms. Am I wrong?

Thanks in advance !

hi,

i have setup with fakesmsc. i am sending messages using sqlbox via
bearerbox to fakesmsc and fakesmsc sends back positive delivery reports
(immediately). so you get delivery reports, but it is not exactly like a
live connection. you just run:

fakesmsc -r port

and it works as fake smsc without sending messages to bearerbox, just dlrs.

Fakesmpp was completed, contributed and used by Rene extensively. However,
it was never accepted by kannel, due to styling issues I suspect, so you
will not find it in the test directory. However, I described its full
functionality in the first mail with schematics. A follow up corrected a
small problem with DLRs. Make sure you read the first mail for its use, but
pickup the second mail for the sources. You can search the archives for
fakesmpp.

fake smsc DLR patch

2008-11-26 Thread Nikos Balkanas
Dear list(s)

As you remember from a relevant question I posed a week ago, although,
according to the documentation, fake smsc supports DLRs (fake) , it didn't
actually work. This proposed patch to the smsc_fake.c driver, fakesmsc.c client
and updated xml documentation will enable this feature.

For DLRs to work you need to specify a dlr-url in your fake smsc configuration.
If you don't, no harm done, the software will remind you of this and process
the sms as regular text.

Alex: The only changes from the last fakesmsc.c I sent you, are the Usage:
lines. It is essentially the same client, so you might as well test this one.

Re: fake SMSC

2007-10-20 Thread Alejandro Guerrieri
Hafez,

If you run fakesmsc on interactive mode (with no messages
predefined) it will wait for messages from kannel and display them on
stdout

You can use the same method to send messages by typing them on stdin
(check the message format on usage/docs).

Alejandro

FAKE SMSC

2006-02-13 Thread Konstantinos Liadakis

Hel,

I am using kannel on a freebsd box.

I can send sms ans mostly it works fine.

I am having problem with the fakesmsc. When I send a
message to fakesmsc message is getting queued instead of being sent. Also when
getting kannel status it says fakesmsc connecting instead of online or
something. Has anybody had this problem before?

Thank you very much in advance

clarification re: fake smsc

2006-01-10 Thread Jonathan P M Thompson

Heya,

I am trying to set up a Kannel gateway for a project for university. I have
installed the gateway software and created a config file as follows:

# CORE
group = core
admin-port = 13000
admin-password = pwd
status-password = pwd
log-file = /tmp/kannel/kannel.log
log-level = debug
access-log = /tmp/kannel/access.log
smsbox-port = 13001
store-file = /tmp/kannel/kannel.store

# SMSC Fake
group = smsc
smsc = fake
host = localhost
port = 13013

# SMSBOX SETUP
group = smsbox
bearerbox-host = localhost
sendsms-port = 13131
sendsms-chars = 0123456789+
global-sender = 0123456
log-file = /tmp/kannel/smsbox.log
log-level = debug
access-log = /tmp/kannel/access.log

# SEND-SMS USERS
group = sendsms-user
username = username
password = pwd

# SMS SERVICE 'Default' group = sms-service keyword = default get-url =
http://www.personal.reading.ac.uk/~siu03jpt/project/temp.php?t=%tq=%qa=%a;

temp.php is a php script which does nothing other than dump the contents of
the message to a plaintext file:

?
 if ($t = $_REQUEST['t']  $q = $_REQUEST['q']  $a=$_REQUEST['a'])
 {
   if (!$out_file = fopen('./posts/post.html','w')) die ('error opening
file');

   fwrite($out_file,'message: '.$t.' '.$q.' '.$a.' ');
   fclose($out_file);
 }
 else die ('parameters missing!');
?

I am attempting to send a text sms message by accessing the following URL
in firefox:

http://[my-machine]:13131/cgi-bin/sendsms?username=usernamepassword=pwdto=0123456text=Hello+world

and receive the following in logs:

Accessing the URL gave me a generic Sent page and the logs seem to
support that, and yet it isn't working. is this somehting to do with my PHP
or a configuration problem or what?

also: I have looked through the Kannel documentation and could not find the
fakesmsc program mentioned in the Using Fake SMSC sections, not sure if
this is an installation problem on my part or what, but the above URL-based
method would suggest is possible.

any help would be much appreciated.

problem with fake smsc syntax

I am testing kannel through a browser window using the following url:

and am presented with the following log (in the kannel.log file):

(the second message is repeated several times)

my kannel.conf is as follows:

# CORE

admin-port = 13000
admin-password = pwd
status-password = pwd
log-file = /tmp/kannel/kannel.log
log-level = debug

any ideas? (the get-url address I suspect will need to be changed but don't

Simulating incoming messages using fake SMSC

2004-10-06 Thread Enver ALTIN
Hi,

How do I simulate an incoming message using fake SMSC? I'm just wasting
my daily battery life with the infrared :)

What I am trying to do is to test my application as if Kannel were
received an SMS message and POSTed to the URL defined in config file,
forwarding the SMS message to my web application, so I can further
process the message.

I think the port variable of fake smsc was designed for this, but I
don't know what protocol exactly does it implement and how do I feed an
incoming SMS to the fake SMSC. Code doesn't sched a light, but that may
