Re: Fake SMSC
Dear, Robin. Spamming this list with the same questions without reading documentation first and putting some effort into learning won't get you anywhere. There are many examples regarding: * fakesmsc (how to set it up) * how to get high throughput with kannel and possible bottlenecks * the problems you're facing were explained 1 times you need just google and find all those answers yourself, put some effort into it * there is a commercial carrier grade SMPP server (contact Stipe Tolj) Nobody is going to make all the work for you, this list is intented to HELP with specific problems, not some vague questions which were covered 100 times before. 2018-01-30 13:14 GMT+03:00 Robin C <robi...@refined.co.in>: > Dear All, > > How can I use fake smsc to test my kannel performance and tps? > > -- > > > > > Disclaimer: This message contains confidential information and is > intended only for the individual named. Make sure your arguments to wget are properly encapsulated in quotes. Your command shell is interpreting all those ''s as a command to run things as background processes. Fake SMSC
Hi, I am wanting to load test my setup and wondering if there is any tools that can act as a Fake SMSC that Bearorbox can connect to like a normal SMPP connection. EG: BB - SMPP - SMSC I would like the fake smsc to reply with Delivery Reports just like a live connection. I have looked in the UG at the Fake SMS Center tool, that seems to only send sms. Am I wrong? Thanks in advance ! Regards, James

Re: Fake SMSC
hi, i have setup with fakesmsc. i am sending messages using sqlbox via bearerbox to fakesmsc and fakesmsc sends back positive delivery reports (immediately). so you get delivery reports, but it is not exactly like a live connection. you just run: fakesmsc -r port and it works as fake smsc without sending messages to bearerbox, just dlrs. miroslav Dne 8.12.2010 12:09, James E napsal(a): Hi, I am wanting to load test my setup and wondering if there is any tools that can act as a Fake SMSC that Bearorbox can connect to like a normal SMPP connection. Re: Fake SMSC
Fakesmpp was completed, contributed and used by Rene extensively. However, it was never accepted by kannel, due to styling issues I suspect, so you will not find it in the test directory. However, I described its full functionality in the first mail with schematics. A follow up corrected a small problem with DLRs. Make sure you read the first mail for its use, but pickup the second mail for the sources. You can search the archives for fakesmpp. BR, Nikos - Original Message - From: Alvaro Cornejo cornejo.alv...@gmail.com To: James E jam...@gmail.com Cc: users@kannel.org Sent: Wednesday, December 08, 2010 3:33 PM Subject: Re: Fake SMSC Check the sources, I think there is a tool in there; search the mailing list a mail from Nikos; he was working on such tool Alvaro |-| Envνe y Reciba Datos y mensajes de Texto (SMS) hacia y desde cualquier celular y Nextel en el Perϊ, Mιxico y en mas de 180 paises. fake smsc DLR patch
Dear list(s) As you remember from a relevant question I posed a week ago, although, according to the documentation, fake smsc supports DLRs (fake) , it didn't actually work. This proposed patch to the smsc_fake.c driver, fakesmsc.c client and updated xml documentation will enable this feature. For DLRs to work you need to specify a dlr-url in your fake smsc configuration. If you don't, no harm done, the software will remind you of this and process the sms as regular text. Alex: The only changes from the last fakesmsc.c I sent you, are the Usage: lines. It is essentially the same client, so you might as well test this one. BR, Nikos kannel.diff Description: Binary data

Re: fake SMSC
Hafez, If you run fakesmsc on interactive mode (with no messages predefined) it will wait for messages from kannel and display them on stdout You can use the same method to send messages by typing them on stdin (check the message format on usage/docs). Testing SMS Receive functionality using fake smsc
Hi, I need to test out the behavior of my app on receiving an sms..and need to experiment with the exec and get-url fields of the sms-service config. How can I set up kannel so that it's as if the fake smsc keeps receiving SMSs? Thanks, Prashant

FAKE SMSC
Hel, I am using kannel on a freebsd box. I can send sms ans mostly it works fine. I am having problem with the fakesmsc. When I send a message to fakesmsc message is getting queued instead of being sent. Also when getting kannel status it says fakesmsc connecting instead of online or something. Has anybody had this problem before? Thank you very much in advance Konstantinos Liadakis

I am attempting to send a text sms message by accessing the following URL in firefox: http://[my-machine]:13131/cgi-bin/sendsms?username=usernamepassword=pwdto=0123456text=Hello+world and receive the following in logs: bearerbox: 2006-01-10 15:39:58 [25866] [9] DEBUG: boxc_receiver: sms received 2006-01-10 15:39:58 [25866] [9] DEBUG: send_msg: sending msg to box: 127.0.0.1 2006-01-10 15:40:54 [25866] [8] DEBUG: sms_router: list_len = 5 2006-01-10 15:40:54 [25866] [8] DEBUG: sms_router: time to sleep smsbox: 2006-01-10 15:39:58 [25994] [3] INFO: smsbox: Got HTTP request /cgi-bin/sendsms from 134.225.217.49 2006-01-10 15:39:58 [25994] [3] INFO: sendsms used by username 2006-01-10 15:39:58 [25994] [3] INFO: sendsms sender:username:0123456 (134.225.217.49) to:0123456 msg:Hello world 2006-01-10 15:39:58 [25994] [3] DEBUG: message length 11, sending 1 messages 2006-01-10 15:39:58 [25994] [3] DEBUG: Status: 202 Answer: Sent. 2006-01-10 15:39:58 [25994] [3] DEBUG: HTTP: Resetting HTTPClient for `134.225.217.49'. problem with fake smsc syntax
heya all, wonder if anyone could give me a hand with this. I am testing kannel through a browser window using the following url: http://puccini:13013/cgi-bin/sendsms?username=usernamepassword=pwdto=0123456text=hello+world and am presented with the following log (in the kannel.log file): 2005-12-01 16:01:48 [12123] [7] INFO: Fakesmsc client connected from 134.225.217.49 2005-12-01 16:01:48 [12123] [7] WARNING: smsc_fake: invalid message syntax from client, ignored (the second message is repeated several times) my kannel.conf is as follows: # CORE group = core admin-port = 13000 admin-password = pwd status-password = pwd log-file = /tmp/kannel/kannel.log log-level = debug access-log = /tmp/kannel/access.log smsbox-port = 13001 store-file = /tmp/kannel/kannel.store # SMSC Fake group = smsc smsc = fake host = localhost port = 13013 # SMSBOX SETUP group = smsbox bearerbox-host = localhost sendsms-port = 13131 sendsms-chars = 0123456789+ global-sender = 0123456 log-file = /tmp/kannel/smsbox.log log-level = debug access-log = /tmp/kannel/access.log # SEND-SMS USERS group = sendsms-user username = username password = pwd # SMS SERVICE 'Default' group = sms-service keyword = default get-url = ~/public_html/project/process2.php?t=%tq=%qa=%a any ideas? Simulating incoming messages using fake SMSC
Hi, How do I simulate an incoming message using fake SMSC? I'm just wasting my daily battery life with the infrared :) What I am trying to do is to test my application as if Kannel were received an SMS message and POSTed to the URL defined in config file, forwarding the SMS message to my web application, so I can further process the message. I think the port variable of fake smsc was designed for this, but I don't know what protocol exactly does it implement and how do I feed an incoming SMS to the fake SMSC. Code doesn't sched a light, but that may be because my blind and tired eyes, so if this is just a stupid question, please point me to right direction.
