Prefer to use virsh command (as I can learn them) instead of virt-manager
and also I have only console access.

Is this possible with a Linux bridge?
(If yes, appreciate if someone can mention steps.)

OpenCV with Eclipse on Fedora 30

2020-02-06 Thread Danishka Navin
Hi,

I am new to eclipse and opencv and I was trying to build a sample c++ code
using Eclipse.

I have installed following packages.
rpm -qa | grep opencv
opencv-devel-3.4.4-10.fc30.x86_64
opencv-3.4.4-10.fc30.x86_64
opencv-core-3.4.4-10.fc30.x86_64
opencv-contrib-3.4.4-10.fc30.x86_64

00:29:09 Incremental Build of configuration Debug for project sample

make all
Building target: sample
Invoking: GCC C++ Linker
g++ -L/usr/lib64/ -L/usr/lib/ -o "sample"  ./main.o
-llibopencv_core.so.3.4 -llibopencv_core.so.3.4.4
-llibopencv_highgui.so.3.4 -llibopencv_highgui.so.3.4.4
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -llibopencv_core.so.3.4
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -llibopencv_core.so.3.4.4
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -llibopencv_highgui.so.3.4
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -llibopencv_highgui.so.3.4.4
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [makefile:46: sample] Error 1
"make all" terminated with exit code 2. Build might be incomplete.

00:29:10 Build Failed. 5 errors, 0 warnings. (took 419ms)

$ locate opencv_core.so.3.4
/usr/lib64/libopencv_core.so.3.4
/usr/lib64/libopencv_core.so.3.4.4

I have already added /usr/lib64/ and /usr/lib/ as library search paths in
eclipse.

Is there anything missing in my config?

I highly appreciate if someone can mention a guide to install sonar-lint
plugin.

Notifications

2019-08-06 Thread Danishka Navin
Hi,

Imagine no user logged in to neither GUI nor CLI but a background service
is running.
Is it possible to send a notification to GUI after completion of the
processing running on the background?

I have checked notify-send but could not find such a specific example.

Thanks in advance.

auto mount and unmount using udev rules

2019-05-15 Thread Danishka Navin
Hi,

I am trying to mount a USB drive to given symlink and mount it to a given
mount point.
Mount is working but when the device removed, I can still see the mount

cat /etc/udev/rules.d/81-hnt-usb-rule.rules
ACTION=="add", KERNEL=="sd?1", SUBSYSTEM=="block", ENV{ID_BUS}=="usb", \
   SYMLINK+="hanthana%n", ENV{SYSTEMD_WANTS}="hnt-usb-rule.service"

ACTION=="remove",  RUN+="/usr/bin/umount $(/usr/bin/mount | grep backup |
/usr/bin/awk '{print $1}')"

[danishka@hanthana ~]$ cat /etc/systemd/system/hnt-usb-rule.service
[Unit]
Description=USB Mount

[Service]
Type=oneshot
ExecStart=/root/hnt.sh

[Install]
WantedBy=default.target
--
cat /root/hnt.sh
#!/bin/bash
mkdir /backup
lsblk > /var/log/hnt.log
/usr/bin/mount /dev/hanthana1 /backup

ACTION=="remove",  RUN+="/usr/bin/umount $(/usr/bin/mount | grep backup |
/usr/bin/awk '{print $1}')"

[root@hanthana ~]# echo $(/usr/bin/mount | grep backup | /usr/bin/awk
'{print $1}')
/dev/sda1

Even though you can't access /backup after removing the USB, mount command
shows following results (After plugin the usb and remove several times). I
wonder why it automatically remove these entries as fedora normally mount
USBs on default location.

/dev/sda1 on /backup type ext4 (rw, relatime, seclabel)
/dev/sdb1 on /backup type ext4 (rw, relatime, seclabel)
/dev/sdc1 on /backup type ext4 (rw, relatime, seclabel)
/dev/sdd1 on /backup type ext4 (rw, relatime, seclabel)

I was testing on both Fedora 28 Gnome and LXDE.

its about running moodle on fedora where around 50 users connect via local
network.
it has higher disk writes compared to reads when user move from one page to
another (it keep track of user actions in the db).
either LiveUSB or LiveDVD smoothly working but installed USB won't work
(gateway timeouts when we use installed USB).

My idea is to make the installed USB boot in away entire system load in to
memory but I need to keep persistence data in /var/lib/mysql and /var/www/

Persistent data on specific directory in a LiveUSB

Hi there,

There is an option in liveUSB creation to make /home to keep persistent
data ( --home-size-mb

Can we make specific partition other than /home to use as persistent data
storage?
for example, /opt or /var.

running start-up script using systemd

2019-01-13 Thread Danishka Navin
Hi,

I have written a script which suppose to run at start-up and set a given IP.
I can see systemd service is running when I check the status but I can find
the expected result (new IP).

Is there anything wrong with the following format of the service file?

[Unit]
Description=Config IP
ConditionFileIsExecutable=/script
After=network.target
StartLimitIntervalSec=0

[Service]
ExecStart=/script

[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.target

Is it ok to restart network service with the script I use?

Thanks Rick,

Use case of deploying 1000 servers is to run moodle based exam and its
required to confirm nothing left in the system (including student created
files).
So, it was already planned to get the USB drive after exam and no need to

 list of services that systemd shuts down and their order? I've enable
 various levels of debugging, but see nothing useful from systemd in the

I noticed the reboot (take much time) issue on Fedora 15 but only happened
on a particular model of 400 DELL Desktops
those systems had been suffered the same issue with Ubuntu 9.x

 Doesn't look good, but I wouldn't expect that to be the cause of your
 crash. You should, probably, also post Apache's own logs. They can be
 found in: /var/log/httpd/ Just go for the most recent versions of the

AFAIK, F12  F13  F14

 You mean to say the small /boot part is ok but I can't go directly
 from 12 to 14 using an install dvd?

is it possible to create another 500MB partition by resizing your existing
partition? :-/

I never do upgrades but fresh installation in each 6months ( i have
separate /home )
but i do not have any network services but KVM images.

 Hi,

I can give you a copy of Fedora 16 liveCD and IveDVD download is in
progress.
I will give a LiveDVD copy once the download is completed.

 The maximum allowable size is 50MB a
 file. I do have my space on fedorapeople.org. Is it allowed to
 download F16 DVD iso to my space on fedorapeople.org, split into 50MB
 files using tar and download them, so that I can create the iso
 locally and delete the files on fedorapeople.org?

 I want to know whether this is allowed and whether there are any
 online services that I can use to get the job done. That is to split
 the iso file into 50MB files and download them.

 The thing is I'm at the uni and won't be able to go home for a while
 due to the exams

I do not mind if you use the hosting spaces of either sf.net or ibiblio or
LEARN (learn.ac.lk) provided for the Hanthana Project. :)
I think this will help to many of university students.

Btw, since we have a fedora mirror at LEARN all the Universities can
downloaded it faster.
Its matter of using local IP (from your university)

anyway I could not find the ISO file at learn server. [1]
Let me contact them

[root@localhost danishka]# getenforce
