I use the HD2 and like the video quality a lot, but I have trouble  
with the audio. If I'm too close to mic, there is a rattling sound.   
Often I record separately with my Edirol and add the sound in with  
iMovie. Other times the sound is fine, so its unpredictable. I haven't  
been able to find a way to connect an exterior mic to it, even though  
there is a port.  The size of the camera is its best feature, and it  
also takes very good still photos.

Man oh man this was fun. I ended up being first in line when I showed
up at the Cambridge, Mass., Apple store at 3 a.m. today. Here's the

Your presentation of this issue was thoughtful, Darren, and it  
inspired me to add a video comment, which should be up soon on  
YouTube, in which I suggest an alternative to articulate. If Biden  
had called Obama eloquent, I think he would have been in slightly  
less hot water than he's in now.

[videoblogging] Volume level problem on Xacti HD1A

I'm having trouble with the volume level when I record video on my
Xacti  HD 1A. With external mic volume set at the lowest level (1) and
Noise Reduction on and Wind Reduction on, I still have volume clipping
during a normal interview with another person, especially when I talk.
 Is there anything else I can try?  I wonder if I received a defective
unit.
