[videoblogging] to buy a macbook pro or not?

2007-07-12 Thread Miranda Leitsinger
hi everyone,

i am one of the new people here. i have a really basic
question: i am getting into video editing with the
intent of making short docs that i will eventually
want to put online. i am trying to decide if i should
buy a macbookpro (the 2.4 ghz, with the 15.4 inch
display). i am learning final cut pro but also know
avid xpress. it just seems like life would be simpler
with the mac.

what do people think of the macbookpro? is it a must
have for video editing, or is there something else out
there i should look at?

sorry for such a newbie question!

thanks,
miranda

If you want to use Final Cut Pro and want to be mobile than a MacBook Pro is
certainly the way to go. I have the first version - 15.4, 2GHz - and I love
it. I've been using nothing but Apple laptops for editing since the G3 Pismo
came out 7 years ago.
