The search for a new X.Org logo
Seems that since Phoronix reported on our desire for a new logo it's gotten a bit more attention than before. Before people start getting to far ahead, what the Board would like first is a volunteer to figure out how we should go about this - for instance, running a contest with a prize? Who should select it? What are the criteria? Sorry for the artists getting excited about submitting things right away, but we hadn't sent out a call for logo submissions yet because we're not ready. If you'd like to help with this (and this is a great opportunity to contribute for people who have good organizational skills but aren't interested in coding), please contact bo...@foundation.x.org (but please remember many of us are at the XDS this week, so with limited attention/access to e-mail). -- -Alan Coopersmith-alan.coopersm...@oracle.com Oracle Solaris Platform Engineering: X Window System ___ xorg@lists.freedesktop.org: X.Org support Archives: http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg Info: http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/xorg Your subscription address: arch...@mail-archive.com

Re: Strange libXrender behaviour on Solaris10/SPARC
Hi Alan, thank you very much for your attention! Why not just use the libX11 libXrender provided with Solaris 10? The libX11 and the libXrender distributed with Solaris10 originate from the monolithic pre-7.x xlibs. Unfortunately this seems to mean that they're too old if one wants to compile a new gtk+. We provide numerous self-compiled software packages, mainly scientific ones, for different platforms and architectures to our users through NFS and I thought it would make our lifes at the IT dep. easier to have current xlibs and gtk avaiable. Now however, I thought solving the problems with Xrender might be of value for other people googling for that issue, at least for the Oracle Solaris X11-package maintainers ;) Best regards Nicolai ___ xorg@lists.freedesktop.org: X.Org support Archives: http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg Info: http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/xorg Your subscription address: arch...@mail-archive.com
OMAP3 video rotate doesn't work until I run ts_test or ts_calibrate
Hello, I am running OE on the Gumstix Overo platform. When I modify the kernel boot args to set omapfb.rotate=1 the system boots fine and displays the splash screen properly. When I try to run Xorg and then matchbox-window-manager I don't see the GUI pop up. If I run ts_calibrate or ts_test then the GUI pops up instantly afterwards which must mean it is already running successfully from the previous attempt. I don't think it's related to saving the pointercal info because if I reboot and only run ts_test that also works and the touchscreen is already calibrate for the rotated screen. So the previous ts_calibrate execution has stored the boot-up pointercal info properly. ts_test ts_calibrate must be doing something to register the display corectly that either X or matchbox can't do by itself. Any ideas?
