It's also a little strange that a test of disabling kms made things quite a bit worse. My monitors got reversed and I had lots of corruption of the display. I did get a cursor on both screens though! If you are having problems with the hw cursor on the second display, please file a bug (https://bugs.freedesktop.org) and attach your xorg log and config so we can get it fixed.
