Hello all,
My apologies if this has been covered by other people in the past, however I
have spent considerable time searching the archives for instructions on how to
fix this issue (or even exactly where it stems from).
Here at RIT I have been working on setting up a Unicast Bridge, however I
Hi Todd:
We've had a network outage this morning, which would've caused this
problem. You should be all set now. If you see any further problems,
don't hesitate to let us know.
Thanks,
Tom

Hi Chris (cc list),
Thanks for your reply. I can see now the difference between the web
service that returns the bridge list and the list of bridges itself, so
the fact that the list only has one entry no longer worries me.
However, is it possible that bridges are trying to add their entry to
Hi,
Recently I've noticed that a couple of unicast bridges I've tried to
contact have been unavailable. When I spoke to Michael Braitmaier in
Stuttgart he said that his bridge server was not restarting because it
couldn't access the peers.txt list on the Argonne Server. Checking in

Is the Bridge Registry down? I can't seem to telnet to

Thanks. Doc Nguyen
to navigate to a bridgeserver from there?
Cheers, Ben.

I'm not seeing any bridges (for unicast) in my 3.1 Venue Client. Does anyone
know if the bridge registry is a central thing that may be hammered or is it
local to my AG node?

Is there a port that needs to be open in the firewall to connect to
the
bridge registry? I have a user, 3.0.2, who's not seeing any bridges in

Is the user behind an http proxy server? There is a known problem in
that case.
Otherwise, there should be an indication of the problem in the logfile.
If you don't see it, I'd suggest just submitting a bug report, which
will include the most recent portion of the VenueClient.log file.

I've just been able to retrieve a full list of bridges from the
registry. Can you describe
more fully how it fails (error message?) and forward a venue client log?
Or, submit
a bug report from the help menu?
Thanks,
Tom

Hi!
Is there any problem
On the subject of bridge registries, I was wondering the other day if
the list might be expanded to more than 10, or some dialog so we can see
ALL bridges available (the V2 one was fine.. I don't know why it was
taken out), plus some sort of 'refresh' to update it.

Hi Andrew:
I restarted the registry earlier this morning. Thanks for reporting the
problem.
In the future, it would be better to send this sort of message to
ag-i...@mcs.anl.gov.
Thanks,
Tom
