No, the test was done using firefox, but since you mentionned IE, I went
on to test the page on it too. Indeed there was a small difference on how
things were visually rendered.
I've added 2 screenshots showing what is seen both before my modification
and after my
+1 for initialValue, indeed its sound better than startValue
+1 for visibleYearCount (none other got proposed but I find that one
evocative enough)

selected to be something else than the current day OR the minimumTime /
maximumTime if the current day isn't in range with those previous two.

and still with an immediate table and the behavior is again the same as
