Fantastic! Here I thought MaxScratch meant actual Max Scratch tape count not all

set to 200. I upped it to 250 and all is good...
Thanks Again!

Hi people,
Hopefully somebody can help me out with this one. We have been
using the command q eve * * to check which backups are scheduled to run
and more importantly which backups have completed, failed etc. However
what we have been experiencing is that the above command displays that
Timestamp in the filespace?

Hi people,

I recently upgraded the TSM server from v 5.1.8.0 to v 5.1.9.2 running on
z/OS v 1.4. Since this maintenance upgrade I am receiving the ANR1339W
messages on various client backups. The clients that I am getting this
message for are as low as v 4.1.2.12 to as high as v 5.2.0.1. I have an

We've set ours at 25%. We are just piloting an all disk backup pool for
some clients on one of our servers and for small files on another.

DB2 does not have a tdp per say.. It's IBM just like TSM. So all you have
to do from the db2 CLP
type in: backup database db_name to tsm. There is other configuration
involved obviously to
tell it about your TSM server, but that's the high level part of it..
Thanks!.

Has anyone done this successfully at code level 5.2.0.1. I have 2 TSM servers both at
the same code level, I am trying to do library sharing using the TSM1 server as the
library manager and TSM2 server as the client. The paths are defined to TSM1(the
manager) and everything works except a DB

Hi,
There are a lot of fixes in the V5.2.X series of ITSM, and if you use this in a
library client - manager config there are serious reasons to do upgrades. Please take

Exclude.dir excludes the directory and all files.
Exclude.archive only excludes the files (there is no exclude.dir for

So if you drill down through the archive gui you will see the files with a

This is one of the inconsistencies

As a refinement to what Richard suggests, you might try using the option

essentially copying your scripts en masse between servers, you would be
able to dump all of the commands scripts from the existing server to a file

You can also set up TSM's configuration managment. The TSM server manual has all the
steps listed.
In a nutshell:
1) Define your current server as the configuration manager
2) In the default profile on your current server ensure **ALL OBJECTS** are listed for
server scripts.

Funny, we set ours down to 25% as well just to see what would happen. This worked but
we have since set all of the ATA Pools to 50% and we just leave them there.
Theoredically what could happen is we could be wasting twice as much space but the
fact is the volumes were going from 25% to 50%
