manage this problem.

Hi,
Sorry but you have deleted the files from the database. In fact, they are
not erased from the the tape so a restore vol won't help.
The only way I know would be to restore an old database backup, you could
do it on another server if you can.

Hi,
I don't understand why the incremental backups should be expired if you set
the backup copy group to retain data for 30 days. If you make that, you
will keep all the backups for 30 days : 4 or 5 full backups and as much
incremental backups than the file was modified.
But I think you haven't

I did that at a customer's : One single drive LTO autoloader in which I

Ok, now I understand what you meant. One solution would be to have two tape
pools : one containing 20 tapes for you 50 clients, and one with 1467
volumes for the rest. If you don't want collocation for all your clients,
it is the only solution I can imagine. But still it is not the diskpool
which
would it take for you to restore say 1 computer of the 20 like in a DR
situation? and why if you don't mind explaining?
Thank You,

if you have a reclamation threshold of 70%,just sum the occupancy of you
nodes and divide it by 0,3, it should give you a good approximation.

I don't understand why collocation should use more tapes. Of course it
would be probably better to have one tape by client but if you manage to
backup for example 50 small clients on 20 tapes, you could use collocation
without buying more tapes. The difference would be that instead of backing
up
Hi,
This performances may be normal as when you reclaim a tape, it does not
read with full capacities of the drive, TSM search for the first file on
the tape, reads it, search for the next file, reads it ... and so on. It's
normal that the data throughput is less than the maximum of the tape

Hello,
You didn't say in what type of OS you where. If it is unix, no problem, you
just have to add a sleep command. If you have a unix box within you
clients, you can also install dsmadmc on it and make the script on unix
which is far better for shell scripts and automations than windows.

Hello,
Did you modify the /etc/security/limits and did you create the fs with the
large file enabled option ? I suggest to create a fs with allocation group
size of 64 MB and 131072 bytes per i-node.
I don't know any other limitation for AIX to create big files, except the
limitation of
of bytes per inode 16384
Compression algorithm no
Large File Enabled true
Allocation Group Size (MBytes) 64

Hello,
I juste upgraded my TSM server on AIX 4.3.3 to 5.1.6.2 from 4.1.6 and I had
to reinstall the devices software at 4.1 level to have my Storagetek work.
The library functionned but the DLT1 drives where unable to read tapes. I
got the following message :

even use UNC names for file volumes (it is better than using drive
mapping, bacause you do not need to be logged in to console on TSM server)

Hello,
I tried to install TSM 5.1.5 server on Linux but I have a problem because
my level is 7.3 red hat with a 2.4.18.24 kernel and for the devices, TSM
requires an older kernel. Is there any possibility to have TSM work on my
linux level ?

present in library are in an readwrite status, I just put all the volumes
