John,
we have a private Backup-LAN without uplink - and without DNS. So
usually the reverse lookup doesn't work for us...
To get around this issue, you can switch off the lookup on the
serverside:
Put DNSLOOKUP NO into dsmserv.opt to do this.
I Think the added vulnerability is an acceptable
to activate the policy set. You changed the versions
data exists value, but it didn't become active. Check the settings
with q copy and see whether the settings made their way to the
active copy group.
Good luck,

We'll be going for a step-by-step migration to the new system. Having
to touch all of the nodes over a period of some weeks will certainly
be less painful than running into a problem and having to touch them
all at once.
Hi,
you have to skip the extend db, otherwise you cannot remove the old
volumes.
Just create the volumes for the new DB location, then make TSM remove
the old ones. Data will get copied to the new volumes.
When you've completed the remove procedure, you can extend the db (if

Charles,
from what I remember, the main restriction always has been the number of
parallel streams you've used to create the backup. If you had two
streams you won't get them back in 3 streams.
When backing up TDP-Ora directly to your tape library, you get the
streams put onto different tapes.
Larry,
changing the TCP-Port doesn't have any impact on the objects backed up.
As it is still the old filesystem on the old server and the old TSM
client software, you won't see any impact.
TSM sends a list of backed up objects from the TSM server to the client
node. The BAClient checks this
occupancy/q auditocc.
