What fun! Vendors galore and members who had items for sale!

If you have greasy wool, and put in the same amount of dye you would use on

Forgot to tell you that we have an alpaca breeder who also makes 100%
alpaca socks from her fiber. I asked her how well they wore, and she said
they wear fine, as long as she has enough to trade around in wearing.

and rinse them in cool water, treating them rather roughly. If I tried
that at home, I know I would have felt in a heartbeat.
I have washed merino and other very fine wools in very hot water (over 160
F) and dumped it in cold
hat you had to have heat, agitation and soap to get the fibers to felt.
Going from hot to really cold water will pre-shrink the skeins, but
shouldn't felt them.

I found out that way that my Ashford Traveler with the Lace Flyer didn't
deliver the 40:1 ratio I thought it was supposed to

up the fleece in England.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the English longwools may be softer than
the US longwools.
I had some Wensleydale. I purchased it based on the 'soft, silky' etc.

I forgot to tell youse guys that, while we were in Oregon, we had lunch
with Heidi and Magnus Drudik. Yummy clam chowder and homemade sourdough rye
bread, with two very nice human beings. Magnus even gave me a Scotch
tension attachment for my Magnus wheel. Can't wait to try it out.
