Common Raven away from the food. The gull flies away when a Bald Eagle
flies in to feed, but it has been returning.

Hi Everyone,
I received a call from Mike Chamberlain of Traverse City, Michigan - he and
his wife have been viewing the Ross's Gull since 7:20 a.m. (2/1/17) - it is
just to the north of the Tupper Lake boat launch! As of a few minutes ago,
they were still observing it.

four times today, 11am for about twenty minutes, three times since 2:45 in
half-hour cycles. I put out some baby clams. It's loving them.
It appears the Ross's Gull is being well fed! It definitely found the right
house!

Chickadees at
Sabattis Bog where I feed Gray Jays. All of the birds keep a good distance
from the Red Squirrels that venture to the food. The chickadees are
extremely observant and let out alarm calls - when the Red Squirrels first
come in and anytime they are within striking distance.

Snipes calling and winnowing as we watched the cranes. An Eastern Kingbird
has an active nest on top of a dead snag in the Raquette River along the

bird feeder! I took a couple photos of the shrike as it perched in a tree
along our lawn, but it flew off after a feeder bird - a relentless pursuit
and they disappeared behind a huge White Pine so I didn't see the outcome.

the Bald Eagles, Eastern Meadowlark (a bad photo, but it documents the
sighting), Snow Buntings, and two Snowy Owls to my Facebook page below.
