unexpected and contradicts the usual code patterns for the sake of
performance and that it very likely is the case that most callers of
f_op->poll() don't

I was never able to install Gentoo with braille or speech output without the
help of another Linux distro. That said; I booteed a Debian installer where I
did have braille support or installed a minimal Debian system and from this
