Looking at where we are now, the open issues are down to #711761 and #711761.
To my opinion, (I am the maintainer of pytango) this is not a problem if
pytango is not available on s390.
I forwarded the bug to the upstream with a patch, I am waiting for the approval
of the upstream.
Nevertheless
A patch has been proposed to the upstream and I am waiting for his approval.

Maybe an experimental upload could be of some interest so I could test also
this beta version with our users.
More users gives more bug report :). This way we should avoid breaking the
current unstable distribution with a mostly working 0.9 pyFAI.

I already prepare a patch for this problem, but I never found the way to build
it inside pbuilder with the current experimental default-jdk version.
It seems to me that it should be very easy to use experimental inside
cowbuilder/pbuilder... Maybe I did not found the riht documentation.

it's the same behavior as in Bug#708925, as you noticed. The problem with
the test in xfce4 is that I don't get it run with 2 Monitors at the same
time
(no menu for this and no automatic detection, so I'm clue less how to
achieve
this test).
Could you try with kde4 ?

It seems to work in KDE (see the screenshot) and so not related to
spyder. Could you
further/reassign this to gnome? qt?
I am not using gnome so I do not know which component is in charge of the
windows.
so I am reaffecting to the gnome package.
