[kate] [Bug 437056] New: Automatic spellcheck in `kate` does not persist

2021-05-13 Thread R Chandrasekhar
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=437056

Bug ID: 437056
Summary: Automatic spellcheck in `kate` does not persist
   Product: kate
   Version: 21.04.0
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: chyav...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Automatic spellcheck in kate is not persistent.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Automatic spell check enabled by default.
2. Type an erroneous word: it is highlighted.
3. Correct the error.
4. Type some more words with and without errors.
5. The erroneous words are not highlighted any more.
6. Toggle Ctrl-Shift-O and the errors show up again.

OBSERVED RESULT

Erroneous words added after a spellcheck correction are not highlighted.

EXPECTED RESULT

I would expect erroneous words to be highlighted regardless of previous errors
being corrected. The Ctrl-Shift-O should not be necessary with automatic
spellcheck on.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.81.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Toggling Ctrl-Shift-O is a workaround but that makes a mockery of automatic
spell checking.

Re: LTO tape cartridge(200GB/400GB) stores data 500GB+.

2004-04-16 Thread Chandrashekar, C. R. (Chandrasekhar)
This is not a puzzle for me, Actually I want to know how much data it can
compress, Is there any one using same tape library. Which helps to estimate
the total storage capacity.

Just to know how much percentage of compression in 3583L23 library using
3580ULTGen2 drive.

Thanks,

Hi,

I see you are a Tivoli certified consultant (TSM) - maybe they missed that
part in
the certification exam - why don't you read up on compression - if this
puzzles you
I'm sure plenty other things will confuse the hell out of you.

 Hi,

Just for clarification, I'm using LTO-Ult tape cartridge having capacity
of
200GB/400GB, Tape library 3582L23 with two 3580-LTOG2 drives with firmware
38D0, and devclass was defined with device-type=LTO and Format=ULTRIM2C.
Now
the tape is storing more then 500GB of data, Is it normal behavior.

This error-Messages looks to me like an error
generated by Windows. (BTW: What does the event log
say about the error?) You don't have to configure
the changer at all for Windows. It should be controlled
by the TSM Device Driver from within TSM only.

Windows does not need to be able to talk to the library.
You only need the device manager to check the SAN connection ;)

Here is the details page of the library from IBM.
Look for the required driver and firmware levels (I think
you wanted to write 5.1.6.7 instead of 5.0.6.7, right?).

You can only check your installation by configuring the
library for TSM. On 2003 I only could be sure about the
setup after I defined the path to the lib in TSM and it
returned with no errors. See the Admin Guide about how
to configure the devices to use TSM drives on 2000.

Here is the information from the IBM site:

ANE4987E has been treated as RC 4 since the consistent return codes
feature was introduced in version 5.1. Check the client dsmsched.log and
dsmerror.log files for other error messages that might be contributing to
the RC 12.

Note that message ANS1448E was being issued at one time in the TSM 5.1.5.x
clients and causing RC 12. This has been corrected in 5.1.6 and up via
APAR IC35763. You say the problem occurs in 5.2, so perhaps this isn't
it... Again, check the logs I mentioned above to see if some other error
message is causing RC 12.

Re: unable to start dsmserv

2003-10-28 Thread Chandrashekar, C R. (Chandrasekhar)
Geetha,

Try according to the help, it may helps you.

ANR7804I An server is already running from this directory.

Explanation: The server has attempted to open the adsmserv.lock file in the

current directory but failed to do so because an existing server already has

the file open.

System Action: Server terminates.

User Response: Examine the contents of the adsmserv.lock file. The process

ID for the server that is running is recorded in this file. Two servers

cannot be started from the same directory. You may remove the adsmserv.lock

file and attempt to start the server ONLY if the recorded process ID is NOT

currently running dsmserv. The 'ps -e' AIX command can be used to display

processes that are currently running.

Hello,

Here is the process we use since several years with several customers.
It's for NT.
You will have to adapt it to W2003 XP but the principle is the same.
You can find some informations in redbooks (redpieces drafts 25/09/03) :
* IBM Tivoli Storage Manager: Bare Machine Recovery for Microsoft Windows
2003 and XP
* IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Bare Machine Recovery for Windows with Cristie
BMR

1.. Install system NT with Microsoft CDRom on another disk than C: Then
install the service pack.
  2.. Copy boot.ini , which is on C:, in boot.bck .
3.. Install on the same disk TSM client. Customize TSM client with the
same name than the one to restore.
4.. Launch GUI of TSM client and select all C: and restore.
5.. With Edit (wordpad, etc.) open the file boot.ini restored.
6.. Copy at the end of this file the content of boot.bck. boot.ini
contains now two adresses of boot : the one of the restored system (which
doesn't work yet) and the one of the installed system (which is working).
7.. Then copy two other files from the installed system to the restored
system :
  WINNT/SYSTEM32/HAL.DLL
  WINNT/SYSTEM32/NTOSKRNL
8.. Reboot the server on the restored NT system.
9.. Relaunch GUI of client TSM and ask for a restoration of the registry
base with selecting system object.
10.. Reboot the server on the restored NT system.
11.. Verify that it works fine.
12.. When restore of C: is OK, it's possible to delete NT system on the
other disk. Then modify boot.ini to delete the boot address of the installed
NT system.
13.. Restore the other disks with the GUI TSM client.

It works and you are less dependant of the hardware.
I hope it will help !
Ask if you need more.

Subject: Resolved: URGENT!! TSM client schedules not running

Called Tivoli and found out that there is a little known and experienced
feature where the client scheduler component on the TSM server just stops.
They say it is very rare and they haven't been able to re-create the issue
or figure out why it goes brain-dead. A reboot of the TSM server machine got
them back up and running. Tivoli asked for some query output to see if it
would help them in determining the sequence of events that lead to the
brain-dead state. He said it's been reported on different OS's and different
TSM server levels.

I've been doing TSM for 5-years and have never seen this condition. Level2
support said I would probably never see it again. That's how rare it is.

TSM Server 5.1.7.1 on AIX 5.1 64-bit. ALl was working just fine until
2-nights ago. Half of their schedules missed and last night almost all of
them missed. Right now doind testing with clientaction schedules they just
sit there in a pending state. They will not run unless the scheduler
services is restarted on the client. Then that and only that schedule will
run. If you turn right around and issue another clientaction for the same
node that was just restarted and processed the schedule it sits pending.

Any help?!?!?!? I'm waiting on a call back from Tivoli support on this
sev-1.
