I am trying to load a backported drm module using dkms.
It is not signed so is listed as tainted and trace points are disabled.

after boot, the connection is not detected until/unless the power lead

Setting cc back to auto/gcc with update-alternatives seems to solve the problem
gcc alternatives is always set as default so maybe should make makefile use

Seems to be caused by having cc set to /usr/bin/clang
Setting cc back to auto/gcc with update-alternatives seems to solve the problem
gcc alternatives is always set as default so maybe should make makefile use
that?

There's an open fdo bug about it at
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55270 but nothing has
happened lately.
Needs someone with a bit of influence to do some exerting since it's a
real PITA.
