I switched to Thunderbird only reluctantly (from mh+emacs ... and before that
/bin/mail but I digress).
Turns out Tbird is actually pretty good. The mail sorting functionality is ok.
You may not be able to import all your iCloud rules automatically. So re-create
devices, including one with a practically identical

Process Explorer to the rescue again. It appears that whatever the orphan
processes are, they are difficult to find. Process Explorer requires at least 2
attempts per orphan process to kill it.
