This is an anomaly with Verizon. I would suggest to give them a call. I myself
use AT and I'm able to access this feature in the phone settings.

Are you referring to notification sounds? I use the Outlook app and this app
works really well if you want a notification for every message that comes in.
You’ll have an add bar showing at the top, but you can ignore that.
