Hi!

Not use v2.1.2(12016) in any case.

> 2.1.2(12026)

 Last version of ASSP v2.X is 2.1.2(12032)

 And, again:

 I.e. problem not related unicode_in_filenames feature?
Or related?

 If
ASSP_AFCDetectSpamAttachRe:=image\/
 try
ASSP_AFCDetectSpamAttachRe:=

 ( this turn off "Check .MD5 of .img" )

Thomas: 3 worker = minimum

N second = 0 bit of information

 See in P.S. mini-HowTo about ASSP-debug:
==
!) on Windows  ( on Linux -- ?analog? ) i'm use FileMon
a) Turn on debug
b) in ASSP GUI open "ASSP Worker/DB/Regex Status"

 If You need upgrade Perl to v5.12 try:

http://docs.activestate.com/activeperl/5.12/install.html
==
 . . .
RPM Package for Red Hat 6.2 or later

The Red Hat compatible package is in RPM format. This should be installed as
root, using the following command:
    % rpm -i ActivePerl-5.12.4.1205-i686-linux.rpmThis will install ActivePerl
into /opt/ActivePerl-5.12.
 . . .
==

 or vice versa

( I'm not RedHat or Ubuntu fan : see later about features of Arch Linux )

> Ubuntu 11.10
  try v10.04 LTS, v10.10 , v12.0 Beta(?)

 And see later:
==
Use Windows ( ASSP work fine many years)
 or
Arch Linux ( rolling reliase, always new ( and worked) soft, etc. )
==

 files copied one by one?
Try backup by dd Or Mondo {BackUp] , restore on another [virtual] comp
-- errors come out?

and run rebuildspam many times on this comp
( i.e. without incoming and outgoing SMTP e-mails)

> how to get any status information on rebuildspamdb past the log file

 Run rebuild from GUI and after this:

!) on Windows  ( on Linux -- ?analog? ) i'm use FileMon
( in last reincarnation renamed ?ProcMon? = union Reg+File+TcpMon )
 and/or
a) Turn on debug
 and/or
b) in ASSP GUI open "ASSP Worker/DB/Regex Status"

>>Thomas: If you switch between [uft/noutf] versions[/editions]

 This is not {ASSP v1.XX rebuildspamdb.pm} file? ( for example, as experiment)
( ASSP v2.XX unpack rebuildspamdb.pm from "assp.pl" on start [may be not every]
)

 Try this:
Thomas:> If you switch between versions - delete the lib/rebuildspamdb.pm
before any restart.

If you switch between versions - delete the lib/rebuildspamdb.pm before any
restart.

What version of Ubuntu ? LTS ( v10.04) ? v11.10 -- is terrible, v12.XX dayly
work better

  And:
 Why Ubuntu?

Use Windows ( ASSP work fine many years)
 or
Arch Linux ( rolling reliase, always new ( and worked) soft, etc. )

Subject: [Assp-test] Rebuildspamdb problems

Hi Folks,

Some more details on my rebuildspamdb problems. Everything was OK until
the 16th (unsure about the 7 second run on the 15th, best ignore it). No
settings within rebuildspamdb have changed, as you can see the run times
listed in the second and third columns have gone up. After the 30th the
two servers started running different versions because I haven't moved
mail2 up to perl v5.12 yet.

mail runs on Ubuntu 11.10 with Perl v5.12
mail2 runs on CentOS 6.2 with Perl v5.10

mail mail2 ASSP V Rebuild V
30/01/2012 47843

13/01/2012 10816 10694 2.1.2(12002) 3.13

Where ASSP fails, the ASSP process just stops running.
No errors, no dumps or anything.
My monitoring script detects this and starts ASSP back up again.

All the Best,
Colin.
