Thanks a bunch :-) After more search, it turns out that if you don't need the router feature of the 3102 (I already have a router), the unit must be connected to the LAN through its... WAN plug. It would have been nice that the pathetic 6-page brochur - which is the only known documentation to date for the 3102 - mention that :-/

Next steps:
- setting up an IP phone accross the Internet, and handle the firewall issue
- see if the Linksys can connect out to a remote IP phone directly, with no PBX at all.
