Hello again!
It's been a while since I posted to this thread but I just have to
tell you all that I got Suspend working on my Asus UL30JT now. I came
across this thread on the Ubuntuforums:

I cant say I'm certain on how stable it is in Windows 7, because I
prefer to use Linux instead. But of the few times (around 5-6) I've
suspended it in Windows it worked flawlessly and in Ubuntu I have a
100% fail rate.

I just updated my BIOS to the latest version. The problem with
hibernation/suspend still persists. Whenever I try to suspend the
UL30JT the screen turns black (but it's still on), the cooling fan is
still going and then nothing is happening. There is a small amount of

I tried to upgrade my kernel just like in that link to 2.6.34 but the
suspend/hibernate problem is still there. :( Guess we have to file a
bug report and wait...
