Anyone out there who could give me the meaning of this word which I believe is Arabic... ??

'aamiyyah or as a name Amiyah

My daughter gave (premature) birth to a 3 lb. baby girl the 22nd. and has named her "Amiyah" she said she met someone years ago with that name and always anticipated giving the name to a daughter. She didn't know the origin. I've done some research and found both spellings on the internet all indicating an Arabic connection.

Baby and mother doing well... no serious complications, thankfully.

lovingly, Sandra
