My computeur have a soft raid1 for the / with sda and sde and i got for a
long time, error with grub. Im running on debian sid with last update.
I needed to reboot my computer one week ago then i go on grub rescue.
After booting on debian live CD, i was enable to use grub-install on raid
I installed Debian GNU/Linux 2.6, kernel 2.6, 32-5-686. However, Windows XP
Home Edition can not be displayed in the grub.
I exactly followed the right procedure which you say in the computer.
