?php
# consultando la IP
if( $_GET[ip] ) # si es IP por flujo GET
$ip= $_GET[ip];
else if( isset($_POST[ip]) ) # si es IP por flujo POST
$ip= $_POST[ip];
else # detectamos la IP del que accede
$ip= $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'];

¿Tienes proxy?
?php
if (geoip_db_avail(GEOIP_COUNTRY_EDITION))
{
print geoip_database_info(GEOIP_COUNTRY_EDITION);
}
?
Prueba con html5 en local:

Nuevament gracias :D ya lo resolvi...
@victor
http://crver.net/get_info.php?ip=la_ip

Hi Johnny,
Thanks for the explanation. yes I do understand that critical patches needs to
be applied for any OS. But in this case it is not a stand alone machine, it is
a cluster suite and OS was not installed separately. I would have definitely
upgraded the system if this was stand alone box.

This is fine.
But then the browser changes the URL in the browser to the servers IP address.
Never seen this before.
Try setting variable ServerName in httpd.conf
