Just my opinion, but I will only have pet quality dogs so I am glad there are
some people that still breed in their homes. I hope they plan and have homes
ready for the pups though. Mine are also spayed/neutered because I don't want
pups. Show quality is not always best quality for a pet.

Charlotte needs to learn that Liza is part of your pack and you will protect
her. When Charlotte starts to circle Liza you need to come between them and
not let Charlotte in. Just move your body/feet so you stay in front of Liza.
If Charlotte continues reach down and give her a little poke.
Jax does this to my lab all the time too. She doesn't do it to him which is
probably a good thing. Her tongue is almost as big as he is. She is the one
that he has bonded to and they snuggle a lot if he isn't sitting in my lap. He
also takes all the toys to her bed and I have to clean it
I'm on the dog's side too but was wondering why a service dog would still have
testicles.

Any progress is good progress. Congratulations
Is the bedtime crate in the same room as you at night where you would hear her

I would put her in a crate that only has enough room for her to be comfortable
but not able to move around very much. If your crate is larger put a box or
something to minimize the room. Don't give her room that she can go to a
corner and poop/pee and get away from it. Towels may be a trigger

Tell her once to potty. By repeating the command over and over is like telling
a teenager to clean their room five times. They learn that you don't really
mean it until you've said it five times and ignore

Diana ~ Hello from the lower half of Washington! I also have two Chi's close
to the same ages as yours. ( Jax 4 mo. and Kia 10 yr). I agree with everyone
so far that your Vet is not a good match and you should choose another one in
that clinic or go to a new one.
I have never heard of
Almost all dogs have to learn to walk with a leash. You can start by putting a
leash on her around the house and just let her pull it around so she can get
use to it. Keep an eye on her so it doesn't get caught on anything. They do
make short leash called a handler. Then start by having a
The best discipline comes from another dog. Let the older dog get mad at the
puppy so the puppy can learn dog language. Of course if they are really
fighting you will need to break it up. I would then make them sit near each
other but in a calm manner. You then become alpha and set the

Last week Jax had one ear up and this week the other one has caught up. So,
two ears up for Jax! I just wish he would be able to sleep through the night.

It is so hard to let them go but they are carried in our hearts forever. I
love thinking of them, over the Rainbow Bridge, running and playing again and
waited for us.

A couple of weekends ago I was talking to a man that really wanted a dog but
said he would never get one. I asked why and he said because they die and
break your heart. I told him it broke my heart that he wasn't able to have all
the joy that I have gotten from my pets. I have a Lab/Golden

Try changing the bowl. Some times if their collar or a tag will clink on the
bowl and scare them. You could even try using a plastic bowl lid and see how
he does with that and then work back up to a bowl.
Jax is doing well and got his first injection yesterday. That didn't go over
very well
Hi, Joan ~
My husband would love it if I would agree to move to Las Vegas when he retires.
I'm so used to everything being green and tall fir trees all around. Not sure
if I could take the heat in the summer. We like to visit usually in Feb.
The pictures make Jax look so big! I think he
I am also new to this group and picked up my new puppy this afternoon. He
doesn't have a name yet but I'm thinking. I have a 10 year old Chi/Pom that
looks just like a LH Chi. He isn't very happy because he is sure the puppy is
getting better things to eat. He went into the pups crate and
