Thank you all for your comments. I got the switch to boot into Denali by
simply power cycling it. It seems that I was TOO patient. The switch wasn't
upgrading in the background; it was hanging.
Why Denali? From various articles which I have read online, Cisco wants to
move from the 3.7
dded MPLS, which is a major overhaul in this "slow part
of the upgrade" - the ASIC programming

All,
This is the second Cat3850 that I have tried to upgrade to Denali-16.3.5b.
Both take hours to go from expanding the files to finishing. I am on hour two

management port (Gig 0/0), there is nothing going over the

All,
I am hoping for some ideas. We are running fiber to an outdoor pole (for
cameras and wireless access-points) and need a switch that can be configured
remotely, does 802.1q, Qos, and has 3 - 5 ports. We are in the MidAtlantic so
the temperatures range from well below freezing to 100 deg

When we did the tcpdumps, we saw the correct timestamps being sent.
Yet, nfsen was only showing the epoch date. This was on our 4500X & our
N7Ks.

We were having the same timestamp/epoch issue. We ended up just moving
away from nfsen and going with Plixar.

Try cleaning the ends of all of your fiber cables and using a fiber

As it has been awhile since we ran 6.1 so I do not know if the issue

I do not know if this helps. But, I feel better after venting. :-)

I have the same CPU problem but on a 3750. How would I add a similar
rate-limit for our ghost traffic? That command does not work on 12.2(52)SE.

Thank you everyone. I will set the broadcast and multicast
storm-control to 0.35 (35%) on the interinks between the distribution

all edge ports as well.

JP,
Thank you. That is reassuring. I ended up doing something very similar (but
my control/packet are on the DVS and on the same VLAN).

Hello,
I am setting up a pair of Nexus 1000v switches. As per the Cisco
documentation, I have the management port in my system-uplink
port-group. However, currently, this management port is in the same
production VLAN as most of our servers. I would rather have the
management in an separate
or chassis. Thoughts?

P.A,
I had a similar issue with Foundry switches and cisco. Try setting the
spanning-tree priority. For us, this stop the spanning-tree topology

The cisco 6509 is running rapid-pvst and the HP switches are running rstp.
The cisco was the root bridge and all HP's saw the cisco as the
