This fix could give almost same performance with SD card out of case.
But this work still not suggest do by yourself, also, this fix need
proper size capacitor (10 pf with 0402 package), and some solder technique.

this is controlled by firmware on the wifi module in this specific case.
= ap mode would need another firmware which we do not have and not know
if it exists at all from atheros to be loaded into the wifi module.
so there is nothing we could do on the driver front to change that.

it will stay the same forever. this enables incremental
builds being quite fast while oe still should know when to rebuild if
somebody updates the recipe with a new(higher) PR or a new version.
but i think our OE crowd can explain these details much better than i can.
