You must have an sd card with at least 2 partitions, the second being
ext3 formatted. Android will write data on it.

(http://people.openmoko.org/sean_mcneil/ ) indeed resolved the page
flipping problem. (screen refreshes flashing, especially with
dialogs and combo box)
